A British mum has been stuck in Turkey the past six weeks over celebrating her boyfriend getting £2,000 veneers.
Georgia Harrison, 32, from Rochdale, admitted to damaging the hotel room and 'smashing' the shower screen in what she's called the 'worst mistake of my life'.
The cleaner said she mixed antipsychotic medication with alcohol, which caused her to completely black out.
"Anyway it's done, I can't change it, but wow am I paying for it," the cleaner wrote on a GoFundMe page as she's pleading to return home to look after her her daughter, 12.
Georgia and her boyfriend Arron Tighe, 32, trashed the Lexia Hotel room in Antalya and attempted to flee in a taxi to the airport on 7 May.
Police caught up and arrested them before they could hop on a plane.
British mum Georgia Harrison was arrested alongside her partner in Turkey on 7 May (GoFundMe) A judge has now ruled that they can't leave the country until they pay £15,000 in damages to the hotel.
The British Embassy, Georgia says, can't help either and advised them to find a lawyer.
After being held in police cells, the mum says she spent one day in a jail cell with lots of men.
Georgia says they've not been able to get the £15,000 figure down and have payed £7,000 in expenses following the travel ban.
"Police came and took us to the police station, and put us in the cell and told me they are waiting for an English speaking translator," she wrote.
"When he came I asked for a lawyer (cause that's what we do back home) he told me there are no English speaking lawyers at this time as it was 2am in the morning.
A note from her 12-year-old daughter (GoFundMe) "We later found out this is illegal, and I was in fact entitled to a lawyer regardless of the time of day.
"At first I refused my interview without a lawyer which they later described as resisting arrest, (bear in mind we was in the police station) which is how they’ve later been able to apply the travel ban."
She then claimed that the 'translator persuaded me and said, 'Here in Turkey, if you don't admit to what you have done and agree to pay, you will go to prison from the police station', and so out of fear l agreed'.
Georgia told the Daily Mail: "It’s driving me insane, I feel like I have got no way out of here.
"I know I did wrong and I regret being so stupid to have damaged the hotel, but I need to get home to my daughter.
"I just feel so weak and I’m getting nowhere, it’s killing me.
"I understand I have done wrong but I’m not a bank robber or a drug smuggler - I made a stupid mistake, I don’t even remember doing it, but I have done all I can to fix it."
