EuroMillions winner Jane Park's ex shot dead on New Year's Eve

EuroMillions winner Jane Park's ex shot dead on New Year's Eve

Many have shared their condolences online

Jane Park's ex boyfriend Marc Webley has died.

Park is the UK's youngest ever EuroMillions winner and got her hands on £1 million at the age of just 17 back in 2013.

According to reports, Park had been romantically involved with Webley as recently as last month.

It's unclear how long the pair dated for.

Webley was reportedly celebrating Hogmanay in Edinburgh last night (December 31) when he was shot dead in the Scottish capital.

The ordeal is said to have taken place outside the Anchor Inn just moments before people rang in the new year at midnight.

According to the Daily Record, Webley - who was a prominent gangland figure - was expecting an attack, sparking him to carry weapons around with him.

A source claimed to the publication that Webley's brother, Don, said that his sibling 'went the day he wanted'.

"Don posted on his Facebook that Marc went the day he wanted, the way he wanted and then laid down the gauntlet by saying 'come and get it'," they said.

"There's going to be wars in the city if Marc has been murdered."

LADbible has contacted Police Scotland for comment.

Webley had previously served 11 years behind bars after shooting a drugs gang rival.

Meanwhile, he was cleared of two attempted murders last year after he was accused of repeatedly slamming his car into another vehicle.

In the wake of Webley's death, his brother has updated his profile picture to one of him with his late sibling, where he's been showered with condolences.

One person wrote: "Sorry for your loss mate."

Another added: "Sorry for your loss bud, condolences to all the family."

A third went on: "Heart goes out to you and family."

Park also replied to the post with a simple love heart emoji.

Police confirmed that road closures were in place surrounding the pub following 'an incident'.

"Road closures are in place on Granton Road and Granton Crescent following an incident which was reported to police around 11.50pm on Sunday, December 31," a spokeswoman said, according to the Mirror.

"Officers are at the scene and closures will remain in place while enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances."

Locals reported of hearing gunshots in the area where it happened, and initially believed the bangs to be fireworks.
