The friend of a UK mum whose heart was tragically 'taken' after she died in mysterious circumstances in Turkey has issued an urgent plea on Instagram.

Beth and Luke Martin travelled to Turkey at the end of April with their two young children for what they hoped would be a perfect family holiday, but the 28-year-old mum quickly became very ill.

The family have claimed that from the moment she was loaded into an ambulance the following morning, the treatment she received was a disgrace, with doctors reportedly not even told that she was allergic to penicillin.

She was then transported to a different hospital without much word to the family, with Luke also questioned by police as they suspected foul play.

Eventually, they were informed that Beth had passed away, and her close friend Ellie Grey alleged that they were forced to carry her body bag through the hospital, and had to argue for her to be flown back to the UK, instead of being buried in Turkey.

An autopsy was conducted back in the UK, where the family claimed that they discovered her 'heart was missing', which has seemingly made a diagnosis impossible and left the family with more questions.

A fundraiser was quickly set up to support the family and shot well above its initial target, reaching nearly £260k before it was eventually disabled.

And now, grieving best friend Ellie has shared an urgent plea on Instagram, ahead of a likely lengthy legal battle involving the family and the Turkish hospital, which remains unnamed.

She said: "Hi everyone, I just really quickly want to say a massive thank you for all the support and the shares, everything. The donations for the GoFundMe went absolutely above and beyond what anyone could have ever asked for.

"I do need one more favour from you. If anyone has been through anything similar in Turkey, any organs missing, anyone that has had a loved one or family member that has died and come back without organs, anyone who has had surgery there and had an organ taken without consent. You understand where I am going with this. Please DM me because we need as much evidence as possible that this is not just a one off.

"We know it's not just a one off. I can't say anything more on the matter but this is now in legal proceedings.

"Honestly, thank you so much for all the support you've shown Luke, her family, her children and me. It's absolutely incredible and also unimaginable. I never thought the rabbit hole would go this deep."
