Man buys £250 advent calendar from Harrods and is baffled by what he finds inside
While you’re stuck with your poxy £2 advent calendar this year, two YouTubers bought the ‘world’s move expensive’ one, and saw how it compared.
There’s nothing quite like having a little treat everyday in December in the run up to Christmas.
But while we’re all nibbling on a bit of chocolate, YouTubers Robbie Knox and JaackMate (Jack) went to Harrods to pick up their luxury advent calendar to see whether it’s worth its pricey cost, which is an eye watering £250!

As Robbie had already posted clips of the gifts he had gotten on social media, after opening a box of £700 Harrods Christmas crackers, it was time to see how the calendar shaped up too.
Sitting down with Jack, Robbie began by explaining that they’d jot down the days as they opened the boxes of the magnificent house-style advent box and then allocate how much money they would be willing to spend per item.
That way they could see whether the £250 box was worth the cash spent on it.
The 37-minute-long video was just as you’d expect it to be and I’m jealous already.
Coco dusted almonds began the calendar.
While Robbie said it was the ‘best M&M’ he’s ‘ever had’, Jack quipped after taking a bite of his ultra-expensive almond: “I tell you what, I’m feeling a little bit right-wing.”
That doesn’t bode well.
Day 2 produced ‘a lovely Harrods mug’, while day 3 saw the pair open English breakfast loose leaf tea to pair with their little olive mug, which Robbie wasn’t too keen on having in his kitchen.
The next box brought out some excitement from the lads as they pulled out a grey ornamental bear which is perfect to hang on your tree, and all I can say is that if it is part of a set, I’ll be asking for those next year.
So far, this was the ‘best one’ they’d opened from the massive calendar.
The next box they opened contained a ‘mini gold bar’ which left Jack asking, ‘what does that mean?’.
For those of you at home, it was a block of Belgian while chocolate with almond nougat.
Already, Harrods is pulling out all of the stops and the general consensus between the blokes is that it’s ‘worth every penny’, even though the chocolate tasted like a posh ‘Toblerone’.
After pulling out a Christmas marmalade and having a taste with a spot of loose-leaf tea, the pair went on to receive lavish gifts from their calendar such as Christmas spiced coffee, which went down as treat for Robbie, as he excitedly said that ‘this is what I want’ in a coffee around the festive period.
Then, it all went downhill when Jack exclaimed that the next box wasn’t something he was ‘happy’ about.
“I am not happy. I am not happy- however, there is another compartment in here,” he said before throwing the box on the table and telling Robbie that ‘it’s losing me now’.
Why?
Because it was a blank notepad in an odd long shape and a pen.
“All I’m saying in the advent calendar’s defence is that if everything was, like class, it wouldn’t be exciting,” said Robbie, which led to Jack unwillingly agreeing.
However, he didn’t look pleased that his excitement and good quality gifts from the bougie advent calendar had been hindered by a poxy notepad and said that it had ‘angered me to my core’.
Next up were a plethora of satisfactory and not-so-satisfactory yummies such as chocolate covered pistachios, plumb and berry jam, Afternoon Ceylon tea, Boxing Day chutney, chocolate hazelnuts, chocolate gold coins, milk chocolate salted caramel brownies, spiced salted caramel shortbread, chocolate, and more snacks.
When Robbie turned to Jack with another chocolate bar, he said that at least the notepad was a surprise, whereas all of the snacks just seem like it’s just the same thing.
That’s when Robbie likened the notepad as being ‘a bad surprise, like finding out your girlfriend is cheating on you’.
In the end, they had even more tea, more chocolate, hot chocolate, a mini-Christmas cake, another gold bar, Christmas pudding and a mini bottle of champagne.
While the end tally of how much they’d be willing to pay did amount to around a third of what the calendar was worth, they believed that it was a good experience to try at least once.
