A hunt is underway for a man said to be causing quite the nuisance in a quiet village.
Reports began circulating towards the end of July that a naked man was roaming the streets in Lancashire wearing nothing but a pair of trainers and what has been described as a gimp mask.
Residents on Westby Street, Cleveland Road and Bannister Street in Lytham captured the nude figure walking along in front of their Ring Doorbell cameras and home CCTV in the early hours of the morning.
This footage began circulating online but police say it hadn’t initially been officially reported and the force only came across it due to posts on Facebook.

And as it stands, it does not seem that the man has been found yet.

Fylde Police say the incident took place at around 00:50am on 18 July while social media posts had initially claimed it was on the 31 July.
It has now asked any locals in the area with similar videos to send them over as it looks into the ‘concerning’ incident.
House to house enquiries are currently underway in the northern town as the force reassured the public that officers are ‘taking this matter seriously'.

“We are aware of a concerning video circulating on social media of a naked male wearing a face covering walking around Lytham in the early hours of the morning. This occurred in the area of Westby Street, Cleveland Road and Bannister Street,” Fylde Police wrote on social media on Friday (1 August).
“This incident was not initially reported to police and has only been brought to our attention after it has been viewed on Facebook.
“Fylde Rural Task Force are currently conducting CCTV and house to house enquiries and would like to reassure you that we are taking this matter seriously.”

The police asked anyone with any knowledge or information regarding the incident, or anyone who believes they have CCTV footage that could assist with the investigation to contact the force via [email protected].

While public nudity in the UK is not a criminal offence, it does become an offence if it can be proved that the nudity is intended to cause upset, shock or distress.
It is not currently clear what the person’s intentions were as residents online seem to be uncomfortable with the idea of the naked man wandering about in the middle of the night.
