A wanted man has commented on a Facebook post from police seeking information about his whereabouts to tell them he’ll be ‘handing himself in on Monday’ and correcting them about where he’s from.

In a post on Facebook, North Wales Police Gwynedd North shared a mugshot of the bloke and appealed for information regarding his whereabouts.

The post read: “Wanted | Have you seen Kieran?

“Kieran, 29, originally from Anglesey, is currently wanted on warrant.

“He is known to have links to Caernarfon, Bangor and Holyhead.

Police in North Wales launched an appeal.

“If you have seen him, or have any information on his whereabouts, contact police via our website or by calling 101.”

Now, I’m not sure what information the police hoped they would receive from sharing the mugshot, but I can bet you they didn’t think it would be a comment from the wanted man himself letting them know that he just wanted a few more days to get his ‘affairs in order’ - but that’s exactly what happened.

Replying to the status, a man claiming to be Kieran wrote: “Dear North Wales Police I will be handing myself in on Monday now I know I said today but I just need to get my affairs in order I am well and safe not committing crime no risk to the public so no need for officers to look for me.”

And if that wasn’t quite brazen enough for you, he then told the officers that they were wrong about where he was from.

“Oh yeah I'm not originally from Anglesey,” he added.

The police responded to Kieran, telling him that he should hand himself in today - and apologising for getting his birthplace wrong.

In an incredibly polite reply, NWP Gwynedd North wrote: “Dear Kieran,

“Thank you for getting in touch with us.

“We apologise for thinking you were from Anglesey!

“We would appreciate if you could present yourself to an officer or police station today, we can’t do Monday.”

The wanted man insisted he would hand himself in on Monday.

However, that didn’t seem to work for Kieran, who insisted that he’d come in on Monday or else cops could ‘come find me’.

In a follow-up, he wrote: “Glad that we got the Anglesey issues out of the way and I'd rather stick to the original request and I'll see you Monday if not I can't do any other day at all you’ll just have to come find me remember you found me in Conwy last time !!

“I am not trying to mock you by doing these public comments like I said I'm safe well and no risk to the public any know addresses I will not stay in I just want to sort my stuff out thanks.”
