Any Brits trying to enter Pornhub this morning will be greeted by a warning message in line with new verification rules.
The 'Online Safety Act' has been activated, which means age verification checks are now required to enter many pornographic websites in the UK.
It has been put in place in a bid to stop children from accessing adult film videos. Ofcom said last month that more than a dozen porn websites have agreed to comply with the age safety checks.
Oliver Griffiths, Ofcom’s group director of online safety, said: “For too long, children have been only a click away from harmful pornography online.

“Now, change is happening. These age checks will bring pornography into line with how we treat adult services in the real world, without compromising access and privacy for over-18s.”
It comes after the regulator found that eight percent of kids aged between eight and 14 visited a pornographic website each month.
Pornhub's new age verification message
On Pornhub, the world's biggest porno site, the following message now appears: "To continue, we are required to verify that you are 18 or older, in line with the UK Online Safety Act.
"To view your verification options, please visit our Age Verification Page.

"As part of this process, you will be asked to create a new account on Pornhub - this will automatically create a new account on Allpass Trust as well.
"By proceeding, you acknowledge and agree to Pornhub's and AllpassTrust's Privacy Notices and Pornhub's and Allpass Trust's Terms & Conditions."
Aylo, Pornhub's parent company, said last month that it would support the new 'government-approved age assurance' technology on their site.

As part of the UK Online Safety Act, Pornhub users in the UK will either need to create an account and provide an email address, or share credit or debit card details for age verification purposes.
Users also have to option to verify via a mobile number, or by online banking.
"Per Ofcom’s guidance on highly effective age assurance measures, in the UK individuals must be over 18 to obtain a credit card, therefore credit card issuers are obliged to verify the age of applicants before providing them with a credit card," they explained.
"3D Secure (3DS) adds strong customer authentication, adding an extra level of security confirming ownership of the card."
They also noted that 'email-based age estimation is listed as capable of being highly-effective', adding: "The user must validate ownership of their email address via a link sent to their inbox."
