Forensic expert shares chilling three words ‘officer in jeans’ shouts before Alex Pretti shooting

Alex Pretti was the second person to be shot amid ongoing ICE clashes in Minneapolis

Warning: this article contains footage that some readers may find distressing.

A forensic expert has shared a chilling three word comment made by an ‘officer in jeans’ prior to the shooting of Alex Pretti.

On 24 January, 37-year-old Alex Pretti was fatally shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis, Minnesota, just weeks after Renee Good was killed by ICE officer, Jonathan Ross.

Horrifying video footage of Pretti's killing has since circulated online, showing Pretti, a registered nurse for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, on the ground and surrounded by agents when one shot him fatally in the head.

The killings have exacerbated tensions in the city, which has seen continued protests against increased ICE operations ordered by the Trump administration.

Now, a forensic expert has shared his perspective on the killing, revealing a chilling comment made by what appears to be an ‘officer in jeans’ before shooting.

In a 13-minute video on YouTube, clinical and forensic psychologist Dr JP Garrison analysed the footage leading up to the shooting, highlighting several miscommunications about Pretti having a gun before he was killed.

Zeroing in on what he believes to be a pivotal interaction between two officers, Garrison noted how one officer - dressed in a grey jacket - pulls a gun from Pretti's waistband, prompting someone else to yell out 'gun'.

Garrison believes it was the officer in jeans who alerted everyone to the presence of a gun being taken from Pretti, who was a registered gun owner.

"I do believe the man in the jeans is the one that yelled, ‘Gun, gun, gun.’ I’m not positive of that… but I think that as he saw the gun getting removed by the officer in the gray jacket, he just saw a gun and started yelling ‘gun, gun, gun,’ and drew his own," he explained.

"That was the first time we heard the word ‘gun’ yelled."

Garrison then goes on to explain how he thinks the officer in jeans appeared to be acting in a 'panic response' after yelling 'gun, gun, gun', before getting ready to draw a weapon himself.

This isn't the only peculiarity which Garrison pointed out, as he also noted how the man in the grey jacket didn't clarify that he'd disarmed Pretti, calling the moment 'strange'.

"It would be a really bad idea to turn your back on someone if you believe that they are armed and dangerous still. So, this I find peculiar," he said of the moment.

"His reaction to this, the fact that he decided to run from this situation without announcing that he had the gun, that the man had been disarmed, that Alex Pretti was no longer armed, I find strange."

The footage released has since cast doubt over the version of events told by the US government, with Secretary of the Department for Homeland Security Kristi Noem previously claiming the unnamed officer had acted in self-defence.

"This looks like a situation where an individual arrived at the scene to inflict maximum damage on individuals and to kill law enforcement," she said.

However, this has since been disputed by Pretti's family, who've called the administration's comments 'sickening lies'.

"Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs," a statement from the family read.

"He has his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper-sprayed.

"Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man."

LADbible Group previously contacted the Department of Homeland Security for comment.
