Body language expert says Trump finger waving at Melania 'not what you think'

People saw him waving his finger at her in a helicopter

A body language expert has weighed in on a recent exchange between Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, by saying it's 'not what you'd think'.

Trump was seen waving his finger at his wife on board Marine One, which is what you call any helicopter currently carrying the US President.

The pair had been returning to the White House after a trip to the United Nations during which he told Europe, 'your countries are going to hell', made a series of other rather wild claims during a lengthy speech and then claimed he'd been 'sabotaged' by an escalator stopping while he was using it.

Claims that the relationship between Trump and his wife is not good have even resulted in a 'Fake Melania' conspiracy theory from people who reckon he's got a lookalike of her for public appearances she doesn't want to go to.

As for this latest exchange, while it may look like they're not getting on, body Language expert Inbaal Honigman, speaking to LADbible exclusively with Casino.org US, says 'there's more than meets the eye'.

"Finger pointing and head shaking aside, let's start with the basics," the body language expert said.

"The couple chose to sit face to face on the chopper, which already speaks to a certain level of comfort with one another. Furthermore, they've not got their noses stuck in books, nor are they scrolling on their devices.

"The pair are communicating, and communicating effectively. They're looking each other in the face, their conversation goes back and forth, they're not turning their faces away from one another, nor turning their bodies."

Inbaal pointed out that since the helicopter had plenty of passenger space, Donald and Melania had other seating options besides facing each other.

She said that if you focused on their hand gestures, this could suggest an 'argument' and Trump's pointed, wagging finger 'could be seen as if accusing Melania of something'. While her hands could 'display a firm no', the body language expert says seeing their faces 'changes the context completely'.

"Their moves are not short and angry, rather communicative and conversational," Inbaal explained.

"The conversation is animated, pleasant and engaged, not frustrated or unsympathetic.

"In fact, as the pair are about to climb down the stairs, Melania, who is famed for her stern facial expressions, is seen smiling at nobody in particular. She's in a positive mood."

While they were together for this journey, the First Family did spend significant time apart, with Trump in the White House - or whichever golf course currently takes his fancy - while Melania mostly lives in New York.

The author Michael Wolff told the Daily Beast that the couple 'live separate lives' and 'do not in any way inhabit a marriage as we define marriage'. The White House, in response, has said that Wolff is a 'lying sack of s**t'.
