A racist video posted on Donald Trump's Truth Social account has been removed by the White House behind the scenes.

The 47th US president took to the platform to share an election conspiracy video, which made false allegations against the Democrats.

In the video, it was claimed that Dominion Voting Systems helped steal the 2020 presidential election, which was won by Joe Biden.

At the end of the clip, the Obamas are shown with their faces on AI-generated monkeys for a couple of seconds while 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' plays.

Accumulating thousands of likes on Truth Social and causing chatter across social media platforms, many accused Trump of being racist as one X user claimed that 'Republicans in Congress will do nothing' as they 'believe this is acceptable behaviour for a US president'.

The clip is an excerpt from a large video which features other Democratic politicians such as former president Biden, Kamala Harris and Zohran Mamdani as animals in the jungle.

A White House official has now claimed that a member of staff 'erroneously made the post', which has now been deleted.

Speaking to LADbible, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the clip posted on Trump's account was made by X user Xerias, who has also confirmed they made it themselves.

She stated: "This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from The Lion King.

"Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public."

Other political figures have also shared their thoughts as Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), responded to the racist clip.

Speaking in a statement to LADbible, he explained: “Donald Trump’s racist video is disgusting and utterly despicable. Trump is obviously desperate to distract us from the Epstein Files and his rapidly failing economy.

"You know who isn’t in the Epstein files? Barack Obama. You know who actually improved the economy as president? Barack Obama."

Johnson added: "Donald Trump must be investigated for his potential involvement in Epstein’s sex trafficking ring. And he must answer for why he has made the economy so devastating for everyone while enriching himself with more than $1.4 billion since taking office. Voters are watching and will remember this at the ballot box."

California Governor Gavin Newsom's press office X account described the video as 'disgusting', stating: "Every single Republican must denounce this. Now."

This isn't the first controversial AI-generated video posted by Trump, who previously posted one of Obama on his knees while being handcuffed by the FBI, back in July.

Trump captioned the clip, 'no one is above the law'.

This video also featured Biden and Nancy Pelosi, with Trump seen with Obama in the Oval Office while the Village People's 'YMCA' plays.
