Bizarre reason Elon Musk was given chainsaw on stage as ex Grimes sends him urgent message

The world's richest man and presidential first buddy Elon Musk has made the headlines once again after brandishing a chainsaw on stage at a political event.

In the never-ending circus that is US politics, the Tesla owner made a highly anticipated appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) alongside special guest Argentinian President Javier Milei and marked the moment by brandishing a power tool in-front of the crowd.

So, what on Earth is going on and why is Elon Musk being gifted a chainsaw?

Out of context, the moment appears like an ill-omen for the seriousness of global politics, but the chainsaw actually is an established symbol for President Milei and his premiership in the Latin-American country.

While campaigning for office in 2023, Milei became known for brandishing a chainsaw at rallies and declaring to crowds that he would slash public spending.

Which is certainly a bold departure from the typical rhetoric of belt tightening and spending cuts which politicians usually parrot, but it clearly worked for Milei as he ended up being elected.

So full marks for theatrics if nothing else, I guess.

Milei's viral chainsaw wielding antics have clearly caught the attention of Musk as he was more than happy to receive one of the many power tools the 54-year-old seems to just have lying about.

Musk then decided to have is own 'Milei moment' and brought the gift, which is emblazoned with the Argentine leader's slogan 'Viva la libertad, carajo' which translates to 'Long live liberty, damn it', out on stage and promised that his DOGE department would commit their own political Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

"This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy," Musk told the crowd as he waved the tool above his head, before sitting down and declaring that he was now 'living the meme'.

"DOGE started out as a meme," he added. "And now it's real."

While Musk was having fun waving a chainsaw around on stage and talking about memes, his former partner Grimes was forced to take her parental concerns public, pleading with the SpaceX founder to contact her about a 'medical crisis' involving one of their three children.

"Plz respond about our child's medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention," she wrote on X.

"If you don't want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can so that we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon."

The singer declined to share further details about her concerns or which child it involved but noted that the little one would 'suffer life long impairment' if Musk continued to ignore her.
