Virginia Giuffre’s family ‘demand answers’ as they hit out at Trump’s claims she was ‘stolen’ by Epstein

Virginia Giuffre, who accused Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, died by suicide in April

Virginia Giuffre’s family have slammed president Trump after he said he thought she was one of the women Jeffrey Epstein 'stole' from his from his Mar-a-Lago spa resort.

The 41-year-old, who accused Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, died by suicide in April.

She alleged Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, his convicted girlfriend, trafficked her to the Duke of York when she was 17, which Prince Andrew has always denied.

In 2022, Giuffre and Andrew reached an out-of-court settlement for a reported £12 million.

Giuffre’s loved ones described the mother-of-three was a 'fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse' and 'lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking'.

Her family have now criticised Donald Trump after he said he 'thinks' the paedophile took the prominent accuser from his Florida spa.

On Tuesday (29 July), Trump suggested Epstein may have taken Giuffre, as well as other young women from his Mar-a-Lago resort.

"The answer is yes, they were in the spa," he told reporters. "I told him, I said, 'Listen, we don't want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not spa'.

"And he was fine. And then not too long after that, he did it again."

When he was asked if Giuffre was one of the employees poached by Epstein, he replied: "I think she worked at the spa... I think so.

"I think that was one of the people.

"He stole her, and by the way, she had no complaints about us, as you know, none whatsoever."

Responding to the comments in a statement, Giuffre's family questioned whether Trump was aware of what crimes Epstein may have been committing at the time.

"It makes us ask if he was aware of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's criminal actions, especially given his statement two years later that his good friend Jeffrey 'likes women on the younger side... no doubt about it'," they said.

"We and the public are asking for answers; survivors demand this."

"If our sister could speak today, she would be most angered by the fact that the government is listening to a known perjurer," the statement, pointing to the fact that Maxwell was recently interviewed by the Justice Department.

"A woman who repeatedly lied under oath and will continue to do so as long as it benefits her position."

They called Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year-prison sentence for conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse underage girls, 'a monster who deserves to rot in prison for the rest of her life for the extraordinary violence and abuse she put not just our sister Virginia through, but many other survivors, who may number in the thousands'.
