Ghislaine Maxwell faces 'do or die' moment in fresh twist after FBI finally address Epstein's 'client list'

Convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell is said to face a 'do or die' moment in her bid to secure a retrial, following claims that Jeffrey Epstein's 'client list' didn't exist after all.

Maxwell, 63, is currently serving 20 years in a US prison after being found guilty of aiding Epstein in the sex trafficking of young girls.

However, the ex-socialite's case is back in the news after a bombshell update from the US government stated that a heavily rumoured 'client list' belonging to Epstein didn't exist.

Last week, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released an update on Epstein - who has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories since he died in police custody - which included releasing footage to prove the 66-year-old killed himself and denying the existence of a 'client list'.

Following the update, the Mail Online has published a report suggesting that Maxwell is currently appealing to the US Supreme Court for a retrial, saying the former Epstein confidant is 'anxious but hopeful' about the situation.

"This is a critical moment, a do or die moment. Ghislaine believes she has multiple grounds for appeal," the unnamed Department of Justice source added.

Maxwell has made numerous attempts to secure a retrial over the past couple of years, all of which have been denied by federal courts.

According to ABC, she submitted a plea to overturn her conviction to the US Supreme Court back in April, claiming she was covered by a non-prosecution agreement made between Epstein and the US government.

Maxwell's team is also understood to be considering appealing directly to the Trump administration – with MailOnline reporting that Solicitor General John Sauer has requested more time for consideration.

What is Jeffrey Epstein's alleged 'client list'?

Speculation about Epstein's 'client list' - a list of wealthy and prominent individuals the disgraced financier is said to have trafficked girls to - has been doing the rounds on the internet for several years now.

US attorney general Pam Bondi even appeared to confirm the existence of a list earlier this year.

The files would come up in conversation again during Donald Trump and Elon Musk's infamous fallout, with the Tesla owner claiming (without evidence) that the president's name was included in the client list on X.

However, the FBI has now denied that such a list ever existed in the first place, writing in the following memo: "This systematic review revealed no incriminating 'client list'. There was also no evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions.

"We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties."

The update directly contradicts previous claims by the US government to release all files relating to the Epstein case.
