As conflict continues to escalate between the United States and Iran, a former CIA agent has revealed how he correctly predicted the events a month before they took place.

John Kiriakou worked for the CIA between 1990 and 2004, during which time he visited 72 different countries all around the world, before becoming Chief of Counterterrorist Operations in Pakistan.

During his time there, he was tasked with capturing al-Qaeda members, which eventually led to him becoming a whistleblower, revealing the torture methods being used by the CIA.

Kiriakou was convicted of passing classified information to the media in 2012 and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Having been through all of this, you could certainly say he knows a lot about world affairs, and particularly the role the US plays in how it all unfolds.

Now, the former CIA agent has shared a clip on TikTok he recorded a month ago, in which he accurately predicted the conflict between the US and Iran.

At the time, he was talking about how countries in the Middle East are wary of Donald Trump as he's 'unpredictable,' meaning they never know what the US' next move is going to be.

While the beginning of the video is cropped, Kiriakou can be heard describing someone, who appears to be from the Emirate government, as being 'genuinely worried' because they 'just can't read Donald Trump.'

The former CIA agent then went on to recall the moment a reporter asked the US president who his advisors are, to which he replied: "I don't have any advisors, I just do whatever my gut tells me to do."

Kiriakou went on to claim that's why the 'Iranians are scrambling, because they don't know what to expect either.'

He recalled a conversation he'd had with retired colonel Douglas Macgregor, about Iran's hypersonic missiles, in which he asked if an aircraft carrier could defend itself against such weapons, to which he was told no.

"The Iranians have hypersonics, the Chinese and the Russians gave them the technology and they developed it internally, domestically. An aircraft carrier is the size of a city, it has 25,000 sailors on it, can you imagine if they sank one of those things? Or even just damaged it to the point it would need to be towed into the port for two years' worth of repairs, I just see nothing good coming from an armed conflict with Iran."

Just days ago, on 28 February, the US and Israel launched a large scale joint military operation against Iran, with he aim of destroying the Middle Eastern country's ballistic missile programme, while preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, while also working to bring about regime change.
