In the early hours of 1 February, it is reported that Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped from her home.
The 84-year-old is the mum of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, who released a video with her siblings on Wednesday (4 February) pleading for her safe return.
The FBI has now issued an update following a ‘new message’ being sent regarding Nancy’s disappearance.
The local Sheriff’s department previously confirmed that her home in Tucson, Arizona, is a ‘crime scene’, with physical frailties meaning it was unlikely she had wandered off.

It appears the belief is that Nancy was possibly ‘kidnapped’ or ‘abducted’ from her bed in the middle of the night.
And this second message regarding her disappearance was sent to a Tucson-based news outlet yesterday.

KOLD News/News 13 stated: “13 News received a new message this morning, February 6, regarding the Nancy Guthrie disappearance.
“We are not releasing details out of respect to the family.”
The outlet added that it had forwarded the message to authorities along with the IP address. This address doesn’t match the one on the initial note, but ‘it appears the sender used the same type of secure server to hide their IP address’.
“The new note contains information the senders seem to think will prove to investigators they’re the same people who sent the first note,” News 13 said.
And anchor for KOLD, Mary Coleman, said on X that the FBI ‘is currently reviewing it’ as she added: “A reminder, our newsroom was among those that received the initial alleged ransom note.”
She included a statement from PCSD: “The FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department are aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie.
“Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity.
“While this is one new piece of information, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department are still asking anyone with tips to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. The FBI continues to offer a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
PCSD shared on social media yesterday that investigators were ‘conducting follow-up’ at the woman’s home and in the surrounding areas, with the roadway restricted.
On Wednesday, Savannah and her siblings shared a video on Instagram pleading for their mum’s safe return.
“We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her,” the Today show host said.
