Disturbing details of an alleged ransom note sent to Nancy Gutherie's family indicating she is dead have been revealed.
Nancy Gutherie, mother of US TV host Savannah Guthrie, disappeared from her home near Tuscon, Arizona, in February this year.
It soon emerged that the 84-year-old was most likely kidnapped, as doorbell camera footage showed a masked man outside her home.
A ransom note was then issued to Savannah and her two siblings, demanding $4 million in Bitcoin for the return of their mother. However, a second note was sent on February 6 saying Nancy had died after the abduction, details of which have now come to light.

NewsNation journalist Brian Entin has been covering the case since Nancy was taken, and has received insight from a source close to the investigation who claimed the note said her death was not intentional, but stopped short of offering an actual apology.

Taking to X, Entin said: "The second ransom note in the Nancy Guthrie case said she died and was 'buried with nature now', according to a source close to the investigation.
"The note indicated Nancy's death was not intentional, but did not offer a direct apology."
A report from newsletter Air Mail claimed that the second note, sent via email to TMZ and other local outlets, demanded an undisclosed fee for the return of Nancy's body to her family.
A source went on to tell the outlet that the email had come from the same I.P. address as the original ransom note issued on February 2 and added that the arrival of the note shifted the investigation from a missing person's case to a potential homicide.
The note came two days before Savannah and her siblings shared an emotional video pleading for their mother's return.

"We received your message, and we understand," Savannah said, seated between her siblings Annie and Cameron.
"We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her," she continued. "This is the only way we will have peace."
It was confirmed at the time by law enforcement that the siblings' video was released in response to the second email, however details regarding Nancy's potential death were not released to the public at the time.
Though the search for Nancy is ongoing, after four months no suspect has been identified.
LADbible has approached the Pima County Sheriff's Department for comment.
