Double murderer Mackenzie Shirilla was heard moaning to her mother about how 'hard' she finds it to not dwell on her circumstances in a newly released jail call.
The 21-year-old is currently incarcerated at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. She was convicted in July 2022 of killing her boyfriend Dominic Russo, 20, and his friend, Davion Flanagan, 19.
As viewers who have tuned into the chilling Netflix documentary The Crash will know, she careered a car into a building at 100mph - and prosecutors argued that her actions that night were undoubtedly intentional.
But in Shirilla's eyes, she is the 'third victim' of the fatal collision, as she previously told a pal during a call from prison: "They're trying to make it seem something that it's not. I didn't do this on purpose, I got in a car accident."

She also claimed the charges levied against her in wake of the crash - including two counts of murder, aggravated vehicle homicide and drug possession - were 'literally insane'.
In another, she referred to herself as an 'innocent ass b*tch' while appearing to relish in the international coverage of her case following the release of The Crash.
Shirilla told her mum Natalia to 'take all the screenshots' of the articles referring to her, while the parent then bizarrely said she would be making a scrapbook of them all.
Now, the contents of another conversation between the mother and daughter have emerged - and the killer can be heard complaining about the bleakness of her future.
Shirilla said that she fears she will not be able to have a family if she is ever released back into society.

It is not clear when the call took place, but according to People, it was made when Shirilla was being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail in wake of her conviction in 2023.
The driver responsible for taking the lives of Russo and Flanagan told her mum that she didn't want to 'live here with these people' in reference to her fellow inmates - who Natalia then described as 'murderers and kidnappers'.
Shirilla goes on to say that she hopes her parents won't be forced to sell their home - before revealing where she would like to reside 'when she gets out of jail'.
She told her mother: "I feel like I want to live off the grid, like, and I'm just... I'm just I'm thinking about like how I'm just gonna be like old when I get out of jail and like, I don't know...
"Like, I'm not gonna be able to have kids or like a family and sh*t like that."

Natalia tells her daughter 'don't go there' and to 'just wait', to which Shirilla then responds: "I know, it's hard not to."
In another part of the call, People reported that the Ohio inmate told her mother she doesn't 'need to be rehabilitated'.
Discussing how she was adapting to prison life and the resources on offer behind bars such as education and mental health support, Shirilla added: "I like how they try to make it, like, enjoyable there.
"Like, I don't even like, I don't want to enjoy life there, but, like, it's just sad. Like, I don't know.
"See, that's how jail is supposed to rehabilitate people, but I don't need to be rehabilitated. Like I don't know that."
Shirilla's parents, Natalia and her husband Steve, have stood by their daughter and said that they believe that she has been 'falsely accused'.
In wake of his appearance in The Crash, Steve was suspended from his job at a local school as a result of his conduct in the documentary. The dad then said his comments in the show had been taken out of context.
Mackenzie Shirilla timeline
17 July 2022 - Mackenzie Shirilla and her boyfriend Dominic Russo get into an argument. A friend allegedly overhears Shirilla tell him: “I will crash this car right now.”
31 July 2022 - Shirilla is driving Russo, 20, and their friend Davion Flanagan, 19, from Russo’s home to a friend’s house. At around 5.30am, she crashes the car into a Plidco Building in Strongsville, Ohio, travelling at 100mph without braking. Police arrive on the scene 45 minutes later. Russo and Flanagan are pronounced dead and Shirilla is transported to MetroHealth Medical Cente.
August 2022 - 200 people attend a vigil for Russo and Flanagan. Shirilla remains in critical condition. When a detective visits her in hospital, she is said to be speaking a ‘unique language’ similar to pig Latin.
October 2022 - Shirilla attends a Halloween party wearing fancy dress which resembles a corpse, which Davion’s father considers in very poor taste. He says in Netflix’s The Crash: “Dressing up as corpses three months after she killed two people, it just sickened us to the very core.”
4 November 2022 - Shirilla is arrested and faces 18 charges, including two counts of aggravated murder. She also faces charges for allegedly breaking into the Columbia Church of God in Columbia Station days before the crash, along with drug possession charges.
7 August 2023 - Shirilla’s trial begins. Her defence team argue she may have passed out at the time of the crash due to postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), but no medical records or expert testimony confirms the diagnosis.
14 August 2023 - Shirilla is found guilty on all counts. Judge Nancy Margaret Russo calls her ‘hell on wheels’, and the court concludes she intentionally crashed the car in a premeditated act.
23 August 2023 - Shirilla is sentenced to two concurrent 15 years to life sentences. Her legal team later lose an appeal and relief petition. She remains incarcerated in the Ohio Reformatory for Women.
22 May 2025 - Shirilla’s parents insist that she’s innocent. Her father Steve tells WKYC: “Show me one piece of evidence - one - that says she did this on purpose. Show it to me, then she's right where she belongs and she's guilty of it. But there isn't any.” Her mother Natalie claims there are texts in which Shirilla says Russo was ‘trying to end her life’.
15 May 2026 - Netflix’s The Crash premieres. In it, Shirilla insists she is ‘not a murderer’ and has no memory of the crash, continuing to blame POTS.
18 May 2026 - Steve Shirilla is placed on administrative leave from his job as an art and digital media teacher at Mary Queen of Peace School in Cleveland following allegations he had ‘demonstrated poor judgement’. Viewers of Netflix’s documentary objected to his attitude towards Shirilla’s marijuana use and his dismissal of claims she told a classmate to end their life.
September 2037 - This is when Shirilla will be eligible for parole
