Here is a timeline of events regarding the allegations made by Virginia Giuffre against Prince Andrew, as the mother-of-three revealed today she only has 'days to live'.

Earlier today (31 March), Giuffre took to Instagram to share an image of herself lying bruised in a hospital bed and confirmed in the caption that she was experiencing 'kidney failure' after being involved in a serious bus crash.

"I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology," she wrote in the post, adding that a school bus driver had driven into her at '110km' as she was 'slowing for a turn'.

"I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time."

It's not known exactly where or when the accident occurred.

Who is Virginia Giuffre — and what were allegations against Prince Andrew?

Giuffre (née Roberts) came forward in a December 2014 court filing to accuse British Royal Family member Prince Andrew of sex trafficking on at least three different occasions in 2001. She was 17-years-old at the time of her accusations.

She would then make further allegations against the Duke of York, claiming that she had further sexual encounters with him at disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein's New York home and his Little Saint James island.

A photo which showed Giuffre (then Roberts) alongside Prince Andrew and convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell together has also circulated on the internet since 2011, according to the BBC.

She was working at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach when she met Maxwell, who recruited her as a massage therapist for Epstein - which is when the alleged abuse began.

A timeline of Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre's civil case

August 2021: Giuffre would file a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew in New York on 9 August, accusing him of 'sexual assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress'. Prince Andrew is served with court papers at his home on 27 August, although this was later denied by his team.

September 2021: The first hearing for the case took place the following month, with Judge Lewis A. Kaplan saying a trial would take place between September and December 2022 (via PEOPLE).

December 2021: Ghislaine Maxwell is convicted of five sex trafficking-related counts. She later received a 20-year prison sentence.

January 2022: Prince Andrew would file a dismissal application, citing a 2009 settlement reached by Giuffre and Epstein. His lawyers would later file documents denying all charges made by Giuffre and requested a 'trial by jury'.

He would be formally stripped of his Royal titles by the Queen on 13 January.

February 2022: Prince Andrew agreed to an out-of-court settlement and provided Giuffre with an undisclosed amount of money, which meant he wouldn't have to give evidence at trial.
