Aussie Parents Encouraged To Put Teddy Bears In Their Windows Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Aussie Parents Encouraged To Put Teddy Bears In Their Windows Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

While self-isolation can be a very drawl and boring place to be amid the coronavirus pandemic, it's the safest place to be.

However, people are allowed to go outside for essential tasks like grocery shopping, doctors visits and exercise (as long as there's not too many people in your group).

Parents have been looking for a way to keep kids entertained during self-isolation and one Australian mum has come up with an ingenious idea.

The Melbourne parent devised the #PutYourTeddyOut challenge, which asks people to put a teddy bear in the front window of their home.

Because you're allowed to exercise every now and then, mums and dads can take their kids on a bear hunt.

It might sound like a silly game, but playing 'Spot The Teddy' while you're on a short stroll around your neighbourhood can be fun for everyone.

Alice Gibson took her three kids on a bear hunt through her Melbourne streets and has told the Sydney Morning Herald it was a really fun game.

It's just really fun, we went for a walk yesterday and they were looking at everything. It's something you can do with the kids you don't have to think of.

"At the moment everyone is worrying about not letting the kids get behind [at school] and this is a fun, happy thing. You are still connected while you are isolated."

It's an awesome initiative because it costs absolutely nothing for people to do (as long as you have a teddy bear lying around) and everyone can get involved.

You and your kids can also practice social distancing during the fun and you'll be able to go home without any additional worry that the fun game heightened the risk of contracting coronavirus.

The more people get on board with the idea, the more chance your kid can see different bears on the usual walk.

Keep in mind though that walks shouldn't go on for extended periods of time and you're not in a large group.
