Influencer, 27, dies after alleged cosmetic procedure goes wrong
A Finnish influencer may have died following a cosmetic surgery which may have gone wrong, according to a recently opened police investigation.
According to a statement given to Finnish-language outlet Yle MOT by her parents, Olivia Oras had lost consciousness while undergoing anaesthesia for liposuction at an unnamed private clinic in the country's capital on 3 September.
She was then rushed to Helsinki University Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead. She was 27 years old.
Her exact cause of death has not been disclosed to the public, however it has now been revealed that Helsinki Police Department has since opened an investigation into alleged aggravated manslaughter over her passing.

The investigation is still in its early stages and no arrests have yet been made.
Confirming the investigation in a statement on their website, the Helsinki police department said: "The investigation is in its early stages, and there is no further information to share at this time."
A representative for the family added that Oras' relatives had 'filed a police report about the matter' but declined to share further details.
Who was Olivia Oras?
The daughter of Finnish artist Johanna Oras and art dealer Reijo Oras, Olivia rose to fame as a teenager after gaining thousands of followers on Instagram.
She was later the subject of the 2017 documentary The Perfect Selfie, which followed Olivia for the period of a year and depicted her young life on social media.
The 27-year-old later deleted her social media account and moved away to Amsterdam in 2017 before returning to Helsinki in 2022.
Olivia had also reportedly struggled with substance abuse issues, seeking 24-hour treatment at a rehabilitation facility after her return to Finland.
Speaking about her addiction issues in a 2024 interview with Ilta-Sanomat, she said: "Alcohol became a way for me to banish feelings of loneliness and exclusion."
In her later years, Olivia had become involved in various AI companies, with her social media pages listing links for companies such as Ikon AI and PALL0 by Ai2Ai.
