A man has been charged with burgling a woman's home and stealing her used sex toys.

Michael Holden, 37, is accused of breaking into the 35-year-old woman's home in Pennsylvania, about 90 miles from Pittsburgh, The Smoking Gun reports.

The victim has fallen asleep on her couch, when Holden entered her home, investigators allege.

He is then charged with stealing $700 (£506) in cash and some of her bank cards.

But then, bizarrely, he is also accused of stealing her sex toys, which were valued at $160 (£115), according to a probable cause affidavit.

A neighbour apparently saw Holden break in, and gave his description to police, saying he was 'skinny, white and wearing glasses'. This then caused the victim to conclude that it was him.

Holden is apparently an acquaintance of hers, and he lives a block away. He was then identified during a police line up.

The woman then confronted Holden with her boyfriend, when he admitted being inside her home and spotting the money on the floor.

A neighbour had also caught some surveillance footage from their camera. It recorded a man who was wearing glasses and a Pittsburgh Pirates cap going into the victim's property.

According to a police officer who has encountered Holden before, the affidavit noted that each time he was wearing 'some sort of Pittsburgh Pirates headgear and glasses'.

He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and theft.

He is due to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on 20 April, Pennsylvania News Today reports.

The affidavit does not confirm if the sex toys and other stolen goods were found by police.

LADbible has gone to the Tyrone Borough Police Department for a comment.

It's not the first time sex toys have been the target in a robbery.

Police in Melbourne put out an appeal to find two thieves accused of breaking into a sex shop and nicking nearly AU $15,000 (£8,300) worth of goods.

Detectives have determined they ran off with around $10,000 ($5,500) worth of vibrators and a $4,500 (£2,500) life-sized sex doll named Kitty.

Standing at 168 centimetres, Kitty comes in a range of heights, bust sizes, waist sizes, as well as hip and weight sizes. She can also have her eye colour, hair, skin tone and nail polish customisable.

9News claims adult sex store robberies are common as demand for sex dolls like Kitty have skyrocketed during the pandemic.
