A homeowner has taken to social media in fury to rant about how much she has to hoover her garden because of her neighbour's pesky tree.

It's a sight I would often return home to from school. My mum armed with her Henry, furiously working her way over the astroturf as next door's tree wept leaves onto my mother's pride and joy - the almost neon green, plastic but perfectly trimmed fake grass.

One woman has had similar troubles with a neighbour's blossom and has taken to Twitter to unleash her wrath.

The woman explained how she has just had her garden 'astro fitted' which cost her 'a lot of money'.

She wrote: "But unfortunately I feel like it's getting ruined a blossom tree that is on my street but over hands into my garden.

"Does anyone know a number that I am able to call for the council to see if I can get the trimmed down please.

"I am hoovering it every day and every morning I wake up to this same mess."

Indeed, the fallen blossom could be perceived as looking like quite severe dandruff.

Or in the eyes of the more romantic and nature-friendly, a scattering of snowfall.

Either way, the homeowner was having none of it.

The pictures were shared on Twitter with the caption: "W****r."

The post has since exploded and amassed over 36,000 likes, 2,000 retweets and thousands of comments.

Like Gnomeo and Juliet, which sees two neighbours battle to have the more superior garden, Twitter users have similarly popped off in heated debate about garden etiquette and design.

One joked: "Person is shocked to find that thing that is outside sometimes gets stuff on it from other things that are outside. Wait for when a bird takes a crap."

Others pointed out the potential environmental concerns surrounding astroturf.

One user stated: "17 reasons to avoid fake lawns By Jack Wallington of which…1) Artificial turf uses huge volumes of plastic 2) Plastic grass can’t or won’t be recycled 3) Pieces of plastic grass will pollute soils for centuries 4) Astro turf has a very big carbon footprint."

However, another argued: "Has anyone ever worked out the carbon footprint of my lawnmower being used for 1 hour for 50 years once a fortnight?"

A blossom owner took the tweet to heart and shot back at the woman with a picture of their own tree in all its glory.

They said: "This is our blossom tree in the spring - wouldn't change it for anything.

"People who put astroturf in their gardens are dead inside."
