Concerning details emerge following 17-year-old girl's disappearance 11 days ago

Her family has shared an emotional appeal on social media

Some concerning new details have emerged following the disturbing disappearance of a 17-year-old girl from Australia.

Teenager Pheobe Bishop has been missing for 11 days now, having failed to board a flight that was supposed to take her from Queensland to Western Australia this month.

After being dropped at the airport by James Wood, who Ms Bishop was living with in a property in Bundaberg, CCTV footage quickly revealed that the 17-year-old never even entered the terminal.

Pheobe's mum Kylie Johnson took to social media on Friday (23 May) to share an emotional appeal to bring her daughter back home.

She said: "Phee is the sunflower in a field full of wildflowers. She is an essential part of our lives and we need her home.

"We need to hear her music, feel her hugs and hear her voice. You can't tame Phee's spirit, empathy or fight for life. She is sassy, feisty and loves harder than anyone I've ever meet.

"We are appealing to anyone who may have heard from Pheobe, or anyone who has information about where she may be, to please contact police."

The property which Pheobe was sharing with Wood and Tanika Bromley, was also declared a crime scene by police, with the duo also questioned by police before being released.

Bromley has since been charged with unrelated gun offences: two counts of two counts of authority required to possess explosives, one count each of possessing/acquiring restricted items and one count unlawful possession of weapons. She has been denied bail and appeared at Bundaberg Magistrates Court today (26 May).

Police claim a shortened firearm, ammunition and two replica handguns were discovered inside a grey Hyundai ix35. There is no suggestion Bromley was involved in Pheobe's disappearance.

Social media posts from Pheobe before she went missing suggested that she had fallen out with her mother and did not plan on returning home.

Police have now shared an update, after discovering some items 'believed to be linked to the investigation' which have 'been seized for forensic examination'.

The statement read: “Police have now expanded the search area and have renewed their appeal for information after recent investigations show some evidence may have been moved from the Good Night Scrub area, prior to police arrival.”

News.com.au reports that police are forensically examining items believed to have belonged to Pheobe, while also conducting thorough searches of the greater Good Night Scrub National Park and Gin Gin areas.

Her mother has also shared further posts on social media, as she and her family become more and more concerned about her whereabouts, and made reference to her local community which is leaving lights on in houses in an attempt to help Pheobe find her way back home.

She said: "Just like many, our light is on and always will be to Guide Pheobe and any of our missing babies home!

"Pheobe is so empathetic and I know that even if we get one child home with lighting up then she would be so happy! Phee our light will remain on until you find your way home.

"To the Queensland Police Service we are honestly so blessed to have you guys in our corner.

"To our community, loved ones and family - we appreciate everything you are doing and are willing to do! From grid searches, horseback searches, dogs to track, the offer of food deliveries, shopping and food everything we could imagine. We are eternally grateful and thankful for your thoughts, love and prayers."

Heartbreakingly, Pheobe's mother also suggested that her younger brother was confused about where his older sister has gone, and is continuing to ask about when she's coming home.

Kylie posted: "As we enter day 11 of Pheobe still not being home our numbness to our tears, to our hearts breaking and this hell is heavy. Not knowing what to say, what to do or even how to continue to live in this cyclone of uncertainty.

"The tears come, the anger and frustrations come and most of all our hearts are shattering more and more each day. Your little man/brother asked yesterday 'Why won't Phee take our calls? She always takes our calls!'"
