Who is ‘red bikini girl’? Woman breaks silence and responds to vulgar men

A woman who was dubbed the 'red bikini girl' has spoken out after the clip of her was viewed over 100 million times.

The short video quickly went viral after it showed a young woman wearing a red bikini and comically dancing during a foam party in Lloret de Mar, Spain.

Later identified as Océane, the 20-year-old French content creator rapidly became an overnight sensation. Better known online as Aora DJ, the 13-second clip quickly amassed over 100 million views on social media, making her one of the most famous people on the internet right now.

One viewer branded her as 'Planet Earth’s new crush' after she was seen dancing around a large group of revellers while water and foam was sprayed on her and the group.

She previously revealed that she had no idea she was being filmed when the video was first captured, as she opened up in a different Instagram interview clip following the viral hit.

She refused to reveal whether she was in a relationship, answering simply: "I won't say more".

Instead, she reflected on how overwhelming the experience had been, and was struggling to process how far the video had spread worldwide.

But shortly after the clip exploded across social media, Océane also shared an emotional message on Instagram reflecting on how dramatically her life had changed.

In an Instagram post, sharing the short clip again, she said that the 'simple' video had 'changed my life completely' and that she was 'truly moved' to receive the huge influx of messages.

She penned: "A simple video changed my life completely and made me go viral on social media.

"I think if it touched so many people, it’s because I was just being myself: spontaneous, natural, and with a desire to enjoy every moment.

"I am truly moved to receive your messages—which are growing in number—from all corners of the globe. I still find it hard to fully grasp everything that is happening to me.

"One thing for sure, I'll stay true to myself. No fireworks, no fakes, just natural, smiling, and living my life the way I want.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. The adventure has only just begun."

Océane had also explained how the experience had allowed her to take ownership of her body and image while supporting other women in feeling confident in themselves, especially after attracting vulgar comments from what she said was mostly men.

"I'm proud of it and [it lets me] show other women that no matter what they look like, it's important to be proud," she said.
