Man who claims to have visited hell said he 'wouldn't even want Hitler to go there'

Seems like a slight overstatement

Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide and substance abuse which some readers may find distressing.

A man who claims to have visited hell has said that his experience was so bad that he wouldn't even wish it upon Adolf Hitler.

Steve Kang was struggling with substance abuse in 1998 and attempted to take his own life after claiming to be possessed by an evil spirit which urged him to do so.

While his body was on an operating table at a hospital in California, his soul apparently travelled to somewhere far worse. It was, according to Kang, hell itself.

Although science has progressed to a level which many would have never believed possible, it seems as if the one question humanity will never be able to answer is what happens to us when we die.

While others have shared details about their near-death experiences, during his out-of-body ordeal, Kang claims to have gone to a dark and terrible realm which he described as 'hell'.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: "It's not a place you want to go. I almost feel like I don't even want Kim Jong-il or Hitler to go there. I don't want my worst enemies to go there."

Kang added: "You're just in this agony, and there's no ability to like converse with people. It was so much pain, so much accusation, so much fear. It was like anxiety multiplied, fear of condemnation multiplied."

Opening up about what he apparently saw, he continued: "It was not a pleasant place, there was no light. There was no plants. I don't remember seeing even an ounce of grass. It was just like rocky floor.

"There's cliffs everywhere, and they look like purplish red, just not a pleasant colour. You look up, and it's just dark. Just imagine a very dark night without the moon."

While this sounds like the perfect environment for a man as evil as Hitler, Kang said he wasn't alone in his new-found surroundings and the 'beings' he allegedly saw are another reason why he wouldn't want any human to experience what he did.

Kang suggested that he spotted 'a group of giant demons wearing capes', much like the judges of the dead that have been written into stories from ancient civilisations for thousands of years.

He added: "I knew they were in charge of this place. They're like three, four, five stories tall, very tall beings."

Fortunately, Kang regained consciousness after around eight hours and his whole outlook on life changed after a Christian prayer group supported him by his bedside.

"They started praying, and the doctor later said that this was a miracle," he said.

It is perhaps no surprise after this scary experience that Kang is now a Buddhist monk-turned-evangelical pastor, who has embraced a life of purity for the last 25 years.
