Here's some things I know about alligators. They are known as "living fossils" as they've been around for millions of years and never really had to evolve. They're cold-blooded reptiles. They live for about 50 years and weight around 500kg. They're also fucking terrifying and amazing in equal measure.
But this lad, who was spotted slowly ambling around Circle B Bar Reserve in Lakeland, Florida, is taking the piss. Seriously, Jesus mother of Mary!

"Holy smokes that is a dinosaur!" commented someone on Facebook and I completely agree. It's too big to be your average alligator.
At over 14ft long, the male alligator is on the big side but the males can grow to that size over the years - which makes me think; are there more giant alligators wandering around Florida?

It stunned crowds at the reserve and even shocked some native Floridians who are used to alligators - I can't believe that family with young kids were so casual about being so near to the thing!
