Footage shows the shocking moment a drone flew a little bit too close to an alligator. You can check out the video here:

Dev H Langer - or @devhlanger as she's known on TikTok - was out using her new drone in the Florida Everglades when she accidentally flew too near to a hungry gator, who reached up and snapped it out the air. Unlucky.

The clip shows the reptile chomping down on the drone, as large amounts of smoke can be seen pouring out.

Posting the clip, Dev wrote: "We were trying to get a close up of the gator with its mouth open and thought the obstacle avoidance would make the drone fly away."

The clip has since gone viral racking up thousands of views, with many TikTok users concerned for the animal's health.

One person wrote: "He's going to 100% die if he gets the battery. It's lithium and it reacts with water. That will burn through him."

Another said: "Not funny at all the smoke comes from the lithium battery."

A third person asked: "Bro, why the hell would you fly a drone that close especially near water with gators? That's common sense."

However, Dev confirmed that the alligator was 'fine' and 'still looked hungry after'.

Others pointed out that it's illegal to use drones in the National Park and threatened to report the clip to park wardens.

According to the National Park Service website: "Drones and other unmanned aircraft are not allowed in the park, or any other National Park Service site. This includes model airplanes, quadcopters, etc."

Earlier this year, some other visitors to the Florida Everglades were left horrified after a huge alligator snuck up on them while they were fishing.

TikTok user Jade - or @capecoral.jade - uploaded a clip she filmed while out fishing with a group of friends in the Florida Everglades.

The clip shows Jade filming one of her friends, who is standing with a fishing line in the water and seems to be attempting to find an alligator they had seen previously.

Jade can be heard asking: "Where did he go?" as she zooms in on the water.

She then jokingly says: "He said that's plastic."

However, she's then left horrified when she realises the alligator is just feet away from her, camouflaged by the water.

NOPE.
