Brazlian Inmates Have Party With Beer, Marijuana And Cocaine

Seems like a hard life.

Life is a party for the inmates at Curado prison complex - literally!

An interesting video has turned up on Facebook from inside a high security prison in Brazil showing female inmates having a party. And they weren't just sitting around playing Scrabble and enjoying a Jammy Dodger or two - no I mean a proper party, with booze and drugs and no prison guards in sight.

To add insult to outrage, the inmates were taking selfies. Urgh. Add narcissism to their list of crimes.

So what was at this party? We're talking beer, marijuana and cocaine, wearing bikinis - that's one hell of a party to have behind bars. Are prisoners even allowed parties? I'm not against them getting a small cupcake on their birthdays, but getting coked up seems a bit much. I'm pretty sure marijuana and cocaine are illegal in Brazil, too. And what exactly do they have to celebrate? They're criminals, stuck inside a jail.

It's like a weird episode of Orange is the New Black.

Check out the video here.

Brazilians haven't reacted too well. They're furious that these criminals are enjoying themselves instead of being punished for their actions, and annoyed that their taxes are paying for it.

Blogger Carlos da Silva wrote: "This is the shame of Brazil. The women were having a party inside a correctional facility. There was a lot of beer, marijuana and cocaine. They had the right to take selfies and just about anything else they wanted to.

"It's an insult to all the hardworking women who have to stay at home and work and look after their children.

And it's all paid for by the taxpayer. It's disgraceful. Prison should not be a party like this. The person who gave it to me did not want me to say who they were. There could be big problems for them."

Angela Franca wrote on Facebook: "All of them have their nails made, watches, new hair cuts and everything else...while we work up at the crack of dawn with dark outside the house... and not even time to get ready.

"Yet they're having a good life in their [sic], maybe I want to be stuck too."

To be honest, if that's all these women do in prison, I think we'll see a lot more petty crime in Brazil so that people can end up in the party prison.

Parties in prison

Prisons in South America seem to be... well lax is one word and another is party-mad. A prison in El Salvador had a 'pornoparty', as it's been dubbed, early last year.

Shocking footage emerged of 200 inmates in a maximum security prison being entertained by three strippers. You read that right - in prisons in El Salvador, inmates get their own private strip show.

The three strippers gyrated up and down before giving the inmates lap dances and even a prison guard is seen enjoying himself.

An official from the Ministry of Justice said: "Following the publication of a video showing a party at Izalco Jail, the Head of the Prisons Service has ordered an internal investigation to clarify what happened and hold those responsible accountable.

"We are currently awaiting the results of that investigation."

Patricia Valdivieso, MP for the opposition ARENA party, said: "We don't know if these women were forced or threatened to perform and how many of these types of parties there've been."
