Police are going all out to locate Facebook killer Steve Stephens who shot dead a 74-year-old man and talked about killing 15 others in a horrific Facebook Live broadcast.

The man, who has been named as Steve Stephens, 37, is on the run after live-streaming himself killing Robert Godwin Sr on Easter Sunday. And now a huge bounty has been put on his head.

Cleveland police chief Calvin Williams announced the reward for any information leading to Stephens' arrest. It comes after police said the manhunt now covers up to 5 states.

Authorities say Stephens could still be in Ohio, or on the run in Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana or Michigan.

A mix of the ATF, FBI and Crimestoppers are all chipping in to cover the reward $50,000 costs for Cleveland authorities.

Police believe the shooting was a 'random attack' as the killer and his victim were not known to each other.

"From what we can tell now, it's just a random person that he picked out. We don't know why," Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said.

In a later film Stephens claimed he had killed 15 more people. However, earlier this morning, police said they had checked several locations but had found no other victims.

They have confirmed that the killing broadcast on Facebook Live was real and have warned the public to stay away from the 'armed and dangerous' killer.

Goodwin was shot and killed as he walked home after enjoying an Easter meal with his family. His loved ones described him as a 'kind and caring' father and grandfather.

In a number of sinister rants, Stephens blamed the murder on spiralling debts and the break up of a relationship, causing him to snap.
