Leading sports brand rebel has partnered up with Lifeline this October, so you no longer have to face mental illness alone.

To recognise World Mental Health Day, rebel will donate $1 from every product you buy to national charity Lifeline from October 4-10.

Last year was the first launch of rebel’s ‘Mental Health is a Team Sport’ campaign, designed to raise awareness of the proven benefits that physical activity has on mental health and wellbeing.

In that campaign, rebel, with the help of its partners, donated $500,000 to Lifeline. Now, rebel is including all Australians in their campaign to get active and support Lifeline.

Whether you’re swimming laps in the pool after a stressful day at work, heading out for a jog to clear your mind, or simply just tearing up the basketball court to prevent the brain from atrophy, there are many health benefits to sport.

Some of these include the release of endorphins and serotonin, which reduce stress and anxiety, improving concentration, boosting self-confidence while fostering a sense of community and making you feel like you’re a part of a team - just to name a few!

This is why rebel has partnered with Lifeline while calling on some of the biggest sports brands to help raise funds and educate people on how sports can positively impact mental health.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a pro athlete or if you just bought your first pair of running kicks, everyone should be able to experience the benefits of sport.

According to Lifeline, one in five Australians will experience declining mental stability in their lifetime, and there are around 65,000 suicide attempts each year, which is why rebel are committed to raising awareness of mental wellbeing.

Especially as the nation grapples with the repercussions of lockdown, there is no better time to get involved in physical activity while concentrating on self-care.

So to promote the importance of mental wellbeing, make sure you rally behind this great cause by prioritising movement and purchasing your sporting goods or apparel from rebel this month.

They have a huge range of workout gear and equipment covering any style of sweat - from dance, swimming and yoga, to CrossFit, Aussie Rules and basketball. Don't forget - not only will your purchase help get you moving, but from 4-10 October, rebel will donate $1 from every single item sold at stores to support Lifeline.

That's sure to provide an even bigger feel-good endorphin rush knowing that focusing your mental health is helping to support the mental health of others. Because mental health is a team sport.

If you, or someone you know, is in crisis or in need of support, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 (24 hours/7 days).
