Man Creates Dating App Where He Is The Only Guy Allowed

Man Creates Dating App Where He Is The Only Guy Allowed

Dating apps can be a dark, depressing and boring place to find love.

You can chat endlessly with someone, or simply swipe to your heart's content, but sometimes it's really hard to find a connection - especially when there are so many people on the same app.

Well, one bloke decided that he'd had enough of competing with other guys and has now developed his very own dating app.

But this app, called Singularity, is a bit different from ones like Tinder, Bumble and Hinge.

Singularity will allow as many women as possible to sign up but the only man on it will be creator Aaron Smith.

The 31-year-old said he's tired of competing with other guys for female attention so he found his own way of ensuring he'd stand out from the rest of the pack - essentially, removing the rest of the pack.

"The biggest problem with the other apps is that my face is not featured prominently," he told WFMY.

"If life gives you lemons, you should first make lemonade. Then make sure no other companies can produce or distribute their own soft drinks. So the only game in town is lemonade."

Singularity even released a promotional video that is sure to attract some people to the app.

Software engineer Scott McDowell - who is also conveniently Aaron's best mate - reckons this could change the game when it comes to online dating.

Scott said: "All of us who have done online dating in some sorta way can all relate to the fact that it really does sometimes suck."

While we're still in the early days of the app, Aaron says he hasn't had many applicants download it... yet.

He told the news outlet: "Hopefully it will give people a chuckle about just the absurdity of what we're reduced to as a society."

We'll have to wait and see whether this takes off.
