A content creator is sounding the alarm after a masked man broke into her room on holiday.
Dubai-based influencer Mira Dorenbosch was travelling around Bali with her husband when they woke up to an intruder standing at the foot of her bed.
Dorenbosch said her husband Jimmy thought a dog had got into their villa at about 5am on Sunday.
“Out of reflex he kicked towards [the dog],” Dorenbosch explained to her 73,000 Instagram followers (@miradorenbosch), “Seconds later, he realized it was a man.

“A man dressed completely in black, wearing a balaclava, was standing inside our bedroom right next to our bed when we were sleeping.
“I woke up in the middle of all this.”
She said the individual ‘started threatening us and repeatedly demanded my husband's Rolex’.

“The Rolex wasn't on his wrist and wasn't even in our bedroom, so we kept telling him that we couldn't give it to him,” the Dutch influencer explained.
“He kept threatening us and it became very clear that he was prepared to do something if he didn't get the watch.
“Honestly, realizing that a masked stranger was standing next to our bed while we had been sleeping is something I still can't fully process.”
Dorenbosch said the incident ‘didn’t feel random’ and that the masked man eventually robbed her husband’s Hermes bag and ‘escaped by climbing over the wall of our villa’.
“What makes this even scarier is that he seemed to be looking specifically for the Rolex,” she added.

“We don't know this for sure yet, but we're obviously questioning whether someone may have known about the watch and passed that information on.
“Different people have had access to or been around the villa, but at this point we simply don't know where that information could have come from.”
Dorenbosch urged her followers to be extra careful when travelling.
“Please be careful, especially when staying in private villas. Be aware of who has access to your villa, who knows where you're staying and who knows what valuables you have with you,” she penned.
“You always think something like this happens to someone else... until you wake up and there's literally a masked man standing next to your bed.
“We're safe, which is the most important thing.
“I'm still processing everything that happened, but I'll share the full story and more details later. Please be careful in Bali.”
