Baby name set to surge in popularity in 2026 thanks to one celebrity as full 2025 list revealed

The most popular baby name of 2026 has already been revealed, and it's all thanks to one celeb’s latest hit.

What you choose to call your baby has always been a bit of a hot topic, and everyone has an opinion to share.

There are the parents who end up with a more ‘traditional’ or ‘older’ name like Olivia, Luke, Oliver or Elsie (so cute), to others who prefer to use their favourite TV show or piece of music as inspiration.

But after ‘vintage’ names rose in 2025, it seems that 2026 is taking a similar route, and not for the reason you’d think.

Just this year, Josephine reached its place in the top 100 for the first time this century, and now, a song lyric might cause a boom in another old-ish name.

What to Expect reports that vintage names are gaining traction, explaining: "A classic, old-fashioned baby name that was popular in decades past may strike the perfect balance between modern sensibilities and time-honoured traditions.

"Vintage baby names may not be right for everyone, but it's good to know which ones are making a comeback!"

We all love an old moniker, but Ophelia is set to be the latest trending name for another reason.

Yes, it's all thanks to Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl album.

Ophelia hasn't made this year's BabyCentre's Top 100, but name expert SJ Strum told The Mirror that the name could be the next big thing due to the 'Taylor Swift effect’.

Strum said it’s all to do with the song, ‘The Fate of Ophelia’, stating: "Ophelia is fascinating. Pop culture is so influential that Swift's cultural moment will almost certainly give it a bounce back next year.

"It's a beautiful, lyrical name with a long literary history, so it never truly disappears. It's the kind of choice that, much like Swift herself sings, never truly goes out of style. We're now seeing names go in and out of fashion at an unprecedented speed."

The name Ophelia became popular thanks to the character of the same name in William Shakespeare's play, Hamlet, in the 1500s. She tragically dies while handing flowers by a brook.
