Burger King lover orders 'UK's biggest whopper' with patties for each year of his life

Burger King lover orders 'UK's biggest whopper' with patties for each year of his life

There's no doubt that this guy absolutely loves his burgers, and he got the 'UK's biggest whopper'

A man has created what is almost certainly the biggest Burger King Whopper the UK has ever seen to celebrate his birthday.

Pub landlord Craig Harker (no relation to yours truly, I think) decided that with his 36th birthday on the way he wanted something a little bit more unique than a cake to celebrate the big day.

Combining his love of Burger King with his taste for giant quantities of food, Craig decided to order the 'biggest birthday burger' by ordering a Whopper and asking for 35 extra meat patties with it.

This is not the first time Craig has created the biggest ever dish a fast food restaurant has ever had to make, last year he got Greggs to make him their biggest ever bacon butty packed with 50 rashers of bacon.

Greggs only stopped adding more rashers of bacon because staff said there wasn't a box large enough to stash a bigger sandwich.

As for the mega-Whopper, washed down with a diet coke to keep the calorie count down of course, staff at Craig's local Burger King drive-thru were incredibly accommodating to the very specific request.

They took the request to make the UK's largest Whopper in their stride and even asked Craig if he wanted 'anything else' with his order, but it seems as though a 36 patty burger was enough for his appetite.

If you want to get your hands on this culinary colossus for yourself you'd best be prepared to fork over a big wad of cash as Craig's total bill came to £53.49, £7.99 for the meal and another £1.30 for every new wad of meat to add to the pile.

He said being handed the Whopper was so heavy it was 'like going to the gym' and when he unwrapped it the burger was absolutely dripping with grease.

Unwrapping the whole burger it turned out to be something that would make the giant sandwiches Shaggy and Scooby made on Scooby-Doo seem inadequate, and Craig carefully held it as he went in for a bite.

Craig managed to eat his way through 12 of the patties and donated the rest to friends and family.

Craig was prepared for his behemoth of a birthday burger by wearing some elasticated jeans which he described 'like pregnancy pants for men', but even with all his preparation he didn't quite manage to devour the 36 patty Whopper.

In the end he made it 12 patties into his fantastic feat of fast food, any more and he thought he 'was going to throw up', which we reckon is damn good attempt considering it was about twice the size of his head.

If he ever wants to make another attempt he might want to ask Burger King to take some of the unimportant stuff out - anyone ordering a 36 patty burger is not bothered about the lettuce and tomato.

The rest of the meat didn't go to waste as the pub landlord has shared the remaining two-thirds of his burger with friends and family, and it was pretty in keeping with the birthday theme as you don't scoff your entire birthday cake yourself.

While the Burger King app only lets you add eight extra patties to your burger Craig reckoned he'd chance going much higher than that by placing his order in person and his gamble paid off.

A spokesperson for Burger King thanked Craig for placing the incredible order.

They said: "We always encourage customers to have it their way – whatever and however that may be. Thanks to Craig for choosing the Home of the Whopper to create his almighty birthday burger."
