Bride and groom divide opinion after serving McDonald's at their wedding

The newlyweds ordered 300 burgers, wraps, and nuggets for their special day.

A bride and groom have well and truly divided opinion after serving McDonald’s to their wedding guests.

The Daily Mail reported that Thomas Billaudeau, 27, and his wife, Ophélie, 25, decided to opt out of the conventional chicken or fish sit-down dinner and instead serve Macca's on their special day.

In the short clip uploaded to TikTok, the bride takes the microphone and gestures to the back of the room as a delivery driver brings out takeaway bags from the fast food chain.

The crowd begins to cheer wildly.

According to the outlet, the happy couple ordered 300 burgers, wraps, and nuggets from MaccyD’s for their wedding guests.

The clip has been viewed over 2.3 million times and some people aren't very happy about the idea.

One person wrote: “I’m leaving.”

Another said: “Pasta with salmon I would have been even happier.”

While a third commented: “Is it a joke or what?”

However, many applauded the couple for being frugal, as one person shared: “I would rather eat McDonald's at my wedding than go into debt for 25 years for a wedding.”

Another said: “Finally, people who have the wedding they want to have without going into debt to show off. Be happy!”

While a third wrote: “I love it and so did your guest based on the reaction. McChicken and some fries please!!! What a cool wedding. Notice the HAPPY people.”

The bride, a marketing assistant, told Le Parisien newspaper that she’s a ‘fussy’ eater and this would be a cheaper option than a fancy sit-down meal.

“I was afraid that we were going to pay for something that we did not like. If you are going to pay, you may as well get something you like,” she continued.

But this isn’t the first time McDonald's has made a wedding appearance.

In 2018, Carmel and Phil Price de Pasquale, 30 and 27, from Rochester in Kent, decided to indulge in a little greasy goodness before their reception.

"We love the gym, too, so people are always surprised as we are always eating. We wanted our love for food to be incorporated into our wedding day as we kind of fell in love over our love for food," Carmel told LADbible.

"We got married and drove straight to McDonald's. I didn't actually manage to eat any of the food truck as I ate 20 McNuggets and chips in there before we got to our reception."

We love a little pre-wedding snack.
