A woman who was ‘addicted to sex’ has revealed why she went on to marry a 30-year-old virgin.
Emily Robbie, an actor from LA, US, was having regular casual sex after leaving her first real relationship at 21.
From there, she was ‘open sexually’.
The 31-year-old explained that the men she was getting intimate with would later ‘ghost’ her or just ‘wouldn’t commit’ to her, which left her feeling both ‘drained’ and ‘empty’.

Emily said: "I was having regular casual sex. I was getting into little short relationships. I was searching for love through sex. They'd ghost me or wouldn't commit. I felt really empty. I loved having sex. I was filling a void."
She added: "I felt I was addicted to sex. It was casual and always this high. I was a sexual person. I wasn't this rigid person.”
However, when Emily found her faith, she came to the conclusion that the sex was just ‘filling a void’, and celibacy could be the answer.
Stating she believes you ‘connect intimately and get tied’ to others, she ‘had to untie myself’.

Emily said: "I gave myself to God. I had abused this privilege of sex. When I became celibate I really started to restructure my mind about sex. I started a long healing journey."
Four years later, she met Tyler Stone, a 33-year-old Christian who was waiting until marriage.
The pair tied the knot in January 2023 and believe it was ‘worth the wait’.
Emily said that with Tyler, it was ‘genuine love not lust’ and she is ‘grateful’ they were able to ‘build a foundation’ before jumping into bed.
As for when the big moment came, she said it felt ‘beautiful and safe’.

When the pair met in September 2020, Emily said they had ‘instant chemistry’ and she knew she was compatible with him.
She shared: "You know if you're sexually compatible with someone. You don't have to have sex with them know. There's desire and attraction. I said I'm waiting until marriage - what do you think? He said same and was a virgin. I thought 'really, he's really attractive?'"
Now, the pair are happier than ever and while they have been open about sharing their story, once she told people on TikTok about her journey, she was called ‘damaged goods’.
This is because Emily was considered to have been experienced in the bedroom prior to meeting her husband.

She said: "If we'd have sex before marriage it would have felt dysregulated."
Emily added: "I like to say celibacy it's for everybody - not just for Christians. Any body could do it. It's for yourself - to heal part of you. I feel people rush sex because they want to be loved. If you could wait - it's beautiful."
For Tyler, he saw Emily's journey as a beautiful thing.
He explained: "I had the option to have sex but in the moment it wasn't what I wanted. I wanted to wait until I was in a safe place. I didn't want to do that with anyone but my wife.
"She [Emily] re-waited. That's just as pure as I was. It was hard for her to rewait. Sex is the biggest bonus but not the reason why I'm with her."
