A hen party spotted a terrifying detail after taking some group photos.
You know how it goes, it’s practically a given that the first image you and your mates take isn’t going to be ‘the one’. Instead, within seconds you’re taking a few.
And usually, they aren’t exactly unique, they’re pretty much all the same. But this group of women had quite a chilling difference in their photos.
I’m not talking about some weird guy trying to photobomb them or one of the party having bad red eyes, but rather something a little more ‘supernatural’ rather than just an optical illusion.
So creepy that it totally tainted the celebratory weekend at the remote estate in Argyll and Bute in Scotland.
Although, just the idea of having a big hen party bash up in a big remote estate does sound like the set-up of a horror film.
This pic is totally normal. (X/@hollydca) It all kicked off for this lot when they were posing for their classic group snaps at the picturesque retreat.
Obviously, they had a number of images to choose from but one in particular left them terrified as something unknown had made an appearance.
So, one picture shows them all posing excitedly but the other, taken just moments later, the distinct image of a young boy can be seen popping up behind a set of logs.
That's already spooky enough in and of itself, but surely not enough to persuade an entire group to pack up and go home?
Well, the problem is that it's not just the spooky face. There's also something of a story at the estate of 'The Blue Boy', which was made into a film in 1994 about a boy who drowned in Loch Eck.
But who the heck is that boy? (X/@hollydca) And in an interview with The Herald in 1994, The Blue Boy screenwriter Paul Murton revealed that he had based the story on a tale he had heard from a hotelier.
He said: "I was talking to the hotelier about it and he mentioned the Blue Boy. This, he said, was a young child who had been on holiday with his parents in the hotel and he had been sleepwalking during the night. He had strayed outside, fallen into the loch, and drowned.
"When they found his body it was blue with the cold. Hotel staff had noticed that things like cutlery and plates were often out of place for no apparent reason - perhaps more sinister than that was the fact that they sometimes found wet footprints upstairs in the corridor."
Ok, yeah, creepy.
While there are people who doubt the authenticity of the photo, which is definitely fair enough, between that and the Blue Boy, that's certainly enough to give anyone the creeps.
