Cabin crew member tells passenger she's 'not his servant' after being told to shut up

Cabin crew member tells passenger she's 'not his servant' after being told to shut up

The heated argument took place on a flight to India

A member of the cabin crew on board a flight to India shouted at a passenger that she was not his 'servant' amid a heated argument mid-journey.

Footage of the heated argument has been shared online after it took place on board the IndiGo flight from Istanbul on 16 December.

The cabin crew worker had seemingly been pushed to her limits as she could be seen in the footage crouching to be at eye level with the customer and having it out with him, accusing him of making other crew members 'cry' with his demands.

She claimed he had been 'yelling' at her, adding: "My crew is crying because of you. Please try to understand: there's a cart, there are counted meals uplifted. We can only serve what you ordered."

The customer can be heard shouting in response to her explanation, asking her why she's yelling to which she points out, "Because you are yelling on us!"

In the clip, which was filmed by another passenger, another member of the cabin crew appears to try and lead her co-worker away from the situation while the customer continued to try and speak to her.

The flight attendant accused the customer of making her co-workers cry.

Before being led away, the staff member shouted: "No, I am so sorry sir but you cannot talk to the crew like that!"

She told him to shut up, adding: "I am not your servant!"

In a statement released by the airline it was revealed that the argument started over potentially one of the most mundane parts of the plane journey: the in-flight meal.

IndiGo airlines commented: "We are aware of the incident that took place on flight 6E 12 from Istanbul to Delhi on December 16, 2022."

"The issue was related to meals chosen by certain passengers traveling via a codeshare connection," the airline continued. "IndiGo is cognizant of the needs of its customers and it is our constant endeavour to provide a courteous and hassle-free experience to our customers.

"We are looking into the incident and would like to assure that customers' comfort has always been our top priority. We are committed to providing the best experience at all times."

It's unclear exactly what the issue was with the meal - perhaps a wrong order, or a lack of options by the time the service made it to his row - but whatever it was it obviously wasn't something the customer could let lie.

LADbible has reached out to IndiGo airlines for further comment on the incident.
