A woman has showed off what she says is the perfect way to get paint out of a carpet.

And she put her money where her mouth is by getting her husband to pour out a fresh slosh of a paint right across the carpet to show us all how it's done.

Anyone else gasp when he poured that paint?

TikTok user Kaytee Haas (@kayteehaas) shared the 'hack' which she says saved her carpets when she ended up spilling paint on the carpets in her new home last week.

Posting on TikTok, she wrote: "You might have to save this.

"You might not use this today or tomorrow but I never thought I would need this until about a week ago, when this happened to me in our brand-new house.

"I got paint on the floor and I literally was going to cry. I thought we were going to have to throw the whole house away!"

However, she said her husband was able to save the day when he came in with this idea.

She added: "My husband came up with this whole idea - and if you don't have a carpet cleaner, this is for you.

"All you need is hot water. Scrape it up in the beginning - all the excess - and then you pour hot water on it and you vacuum it with a ShopVac and look at this... it looks brand new."

In the clip, the man can be seen pouring out some pale-coloured paint on to the carpet, before quickly scraping off as much of it as he can with a couple of wall scrapers.

He then tips some hot water out of a bucket onto the paint and starts to vacuum over the area.

He repeats this process a couple of times until, as if by magic, the paint completely disappears.

Fair play, he's done a good job there - I thought that carpet was done for.

Kaytee went on to explain to her followers that her husband had removed the filter from the vacuum beforehand to stop it getting clogged and also warned that it won't work on paint that is not water soluble.

Someone else pointed out that this won't work with just any old vacuum cleaner, either, you'll need to ensure you have a fairly powerful wet/dry vac.

If you want my opinion, your best bet is probably to just not spill paint all over your gaff.
