A man who claims to have completed a full month of the No Nut November challenge has shared the seven surprising changes he noticed after.

The meme-driven trend, involving mostly men, promotes the so-called benefits of not masturbating for the entire month of November.

No Nut November has been popularised by NoFap.com, a movement which focuses on the idea of resetting habits and increasing self-discipline.

Over on Reddit, participants claim it can help curb porn addiction, compulsive thoughts and even addictive sexual behavior. Some health experts, meanwhile, think it could be doing more harm than good.

Putting this to the test for the first time is a guy on Reddit who shared his results on the social media platform.

Whilst preferring to remain anonymous, he revealed what happened when he managed to 'defeat' his urges 'for a month straight'.

Confidence

The individual who failed on day four of the previous year said he felt 'proud' for getting through the entire month.

And so the first thing he noticed was an improved sense of self worth, explaining: "Never been more confident in my whole damn life."

Productivity

"Completing my tasks were much faster compared to my previous records," he claimed.

Happiness

Without giving much context, he claims the 'feeling of happiness was always present'.

Increased urge to watch porn

He admitted that as the days went by, he felt an increased urge to watch pornography, something which the NoFap movement claims to help combat.

Tingling in testicles

The Reddit user said he felt a 'weird' tingling in his testicles when his body was 'demanding for masturbation'.

What he could be referring to is 'Blue balls', which is a slang term for what doctors often call Epididymal hypertension.

It can come in the form of a temporary feeling of pressure, heaviness, or discomfort in the testicles after sexual arousal without orgasm or ejaculation.

It does not mean your testicles actually turn blue, as the name reflects the discomfort rather than a dramatic colour change.

More wet dreams

A wet dream is when a guy ejaculates while experiencing a sexual dreams when sleeping. It tends to be more common during puberty, and can sometimes occur in adults.

The No Nut November challenger said he experienced two to three of these dreams after three years of not having one.

Improved communication

Lastly, he claimed that he was 'easily able to talk to people', which perhaps ties into his improved level of confidence.

With all of this in mind, the Oxford Online Pharmacy states: "There is not enough reliable evidence to prove the reported benefits of No Nut November.

"Just as there is insufficient evidence to assert that No Nut November is good for you, there is not enough research to confirm that it is bad, either."
