A man told his boss that he puts in below average effort to match his below average salary. Watch him explain how that went down here:
Podcast producer and voice actor Kris B took to TikTok to recreate a conversation he had with his boss about his performance.
Captioning the video 'I have 9 weeks left at this job so', Kris deployed one of his voice actor friends to play the part of his boss.

In the clip - which has been viewed more than 11 million times - 'his boss' can be heard saying: "Mainly, I want us discuss the difference in your performance between last year and 2020.
"You were the top-rated employee in 2020, but it doesn't feel like you've been nearly as present or focussed since then. What's changed?"
Kris then took the opportunity to make it abundantly clear that his drop in work rate was no mistake.
He said: "2020 was the second year in a row I didn't get a raise, even though I was the top employee.
"When I asked why I couldn't get a raise, you said it was because my position - no, my pay was a 'fair market value for my position'.
"And when I asked where my pay falls on the pay grade scale, you said it was 'below the median', so below the average of what I could make in my position.
"So, at that point, I just decided I'm going to become a fair market value employee and put in a below average amount of effort because that's what I feel like you pay me to do.
"You've created an environment where there's no incentive for me to work hard. So I don't."
Oh snap.
As you might expect, the post got a lot of love from TikTok users who could relate to being underpaid for their work.
One person commented: "Funny how employers always have an excuse for below avg wages, but accept no excuses for below avg work."
Another said: "The level of audacity in your response is highly APPROPRIATE!"
A third added: "I just decided to exploit you back."
In a follow-up video, Kris explained that he loves his boss - who is also getting laid off - and she had no say in his pay, but he had been desperate to get his feelings off his chest after hearing he was being paid a 'fair market value salary'.
He added that his boss - after a long silence - eventually replied: "Can you please just do your job for the rest of the time that you're here, because we're only here for a few more weeks."
