There's a peculiar theory which claims that people who've never broken a bone have 'divine protection'.
For many people, breaking a bone is a rite of passage, with every school having countless kids who've ended up in plaster after falling off the monkey bars, been the victim of a gnarly tackle while playing football or taking a tumble down the stairs.
And yet other people manage to breeze through life without ever needing to have one of their limbs wrapped in Plaster of Paris for four to eight weeks.
So what gives?

Well, if you were to ask the spiritualists of TikTok, this is a sign that you're favoured by a higher power.

Broken bone theory explained
"Apparently, there is a spiritual reason to why people have never broken a bone," said Sara (@sarasweirdworld) in a viral post on the platform.
"That's because they are protected by spiritual protection," she continued. "Almost untouchable in a weird sense. Protected by the higher powers."
Which is certainly a nice thought for anyone who's never broken a bone, but it certainly doesn't mean you're invincible.
As I'm pretty sure all of us would choose a broken bone over a life-threatening injury or illness.
Divine protection wasn't the only reason which Sara suggested, as the content creator suggested good karma as a reason, saying: "The theory is that these types of people possess good karma, which they've earned by doing actions and kind deeds.
"This protects the individuals from coming to any harm."
Again, it's a nice thought, but I'd argue that not breaking a bone doesn't mean someone hasn't come to any harm.

She also claimed that certain past life experiences can influence the luck you experience in this life, saying that people who've never broken a bone are more likely to have experienced significant trauma in a past life.
"The theory suggests that they are being spared from having similar experiences in this life," she adds.
Which is good news for your current self, but perhaps not for the previous iterations.
What does science say about this theory?
It should come as no surprise that scientists and medical experts are sceptical about such claims.
"[It's] a mix of your genes, lifestyle, and even what you eat could be making your bones weaker or stronger," Dr Suhail Hussain previously told LADbible.
"Bone strength is largely inherited. That includes how dense your bones are, how well your body processes calcium, and even how your skeleton is built.
"Some of us are naturally more prone to thinner bones — and those can snap more easily under pressure."

Meanwhile, the foods you eat and the lifestyle you lead can also play a part, with Dr Hussain noting that people with poor diets, who smoke, consume excess amounts of alcohol and take part in a limited amount of exercise are at a greater risk.
"Lifestyle plays a huge role in whether or not you’ll suffer a fracture one day. In fact, there is probably more you can do to protect yourself from this phenomenon than you realise," he added.
