Woman abandoned by date after eating 48 oysters called out over what she left as tip

The woman who was abandoned by her date after she ordered 48 oysters has followed up on her first story by revealing how much she left as a tip amidst some criticism.

You see, she was called out for only leaving an $11 tip on top of that very large and strange order, but she has since responded to say that she actually left $11 in cash and $15 on her card, as well as paying for the guy’s drink as well.

In case you’re not familiar with this whole strange saga, let’s go back to the beginning, shall we?

TikTok user @equanaaa visited the Fontaine’s Oyster House in Atlanta, Georgia with a date who had apparently been very keen to take her out for a while.

Whilst some people hate oysters – they’re slimy – others love them, and they’re supposed to be an aphrodisiac, so maybe the oyster house is a good first date location.

However, it didn’t turn out to be a romantic experience for anyone on this occasion.

She decided that she was going to go full whack at the oysters, ordering up four dozen of the shelled treats, costing around $15 (about £12.30) per dozen.

In a video shared to her TikTok, Equana said that her companion – who is not named – had started to get a bit weird by the time the last plate rolled out of the kitchen.

“Y’all, when the fourth [plate] came out, he was looking at me crazy,” she explained.

“I didn’t give a f***.

“I’m like, ‘Baby, you invited me out. I’m going to eat.’”

Eat she did, as well.

After the oysters, she had crab cakes, potatoes, and washed everything down with lemon drop martinis.

The food, she said, was ’10 out of 10’, but left her date feeling worried about what was going to happen to his wallet.

At one stage, he excused himself and went to the bathroom, simply never coming back to the table and leaving the $184 (£150) bill for Equana to pick up.

She texted him to say: “Running out on a tab is crazyyy.”

He responded: “I offered to take you out for drinks and you ordered all that food,

“I can CashApp the total for the drinks.”

Anyway, after receiving some criticism for her tipping, she has since confirmed the amount that she tipped over all, releasing a short video that said: “Baby I left $11 cash, and $15 on my card, and mind you I paid for the n*****’s drink as well, the f***?”

Still, people are finding the whole thing pretty unusual, as the comments section proves.

One person wrote: “You should have paid that man for sitting there having to listen to you slurp that many oysters bro.”

A second joked: “Plot twist she was alone the whole time.”

A third commented: “184 [dollars] for oysters is crazy lmao.”
