Carol Vorderman says her 'buoyant bum' will ruin her chances in new I'm A Celeb trial

Carol Vorderman says her 'buoyant bum' will ruin her chances in new I'm A Celeb trial

She reckons her 'buoyant bum' could hold her back

Carol Vorderman reckons her ‘buoyant bum’ could scupper her chances of winning an I’m A Celebrity trial.

The 62-year-old star is one of the celebrities taking part in the special South African version of the show which sees former campmates heading back to the jungle and competing to be crowned the ultimate I’m A Celeb legend.

Alongside Carol, the ‘all-star’ version of the show features past campmates Paul Burrell, Phil Tufnell, Gillian McKeith, Shaun Ryder, Myleene Klass and Helen Flanagan.

On tonight’s episode, Carol is chosen to take part in the Tanks of Torment trial and was asked to choose a fellow campmate to join her.

After picking Olympic star Fatima Whitbread to help her out on the task, Carol admitted that she felt her ‘buoyant bum’ could hold her back.

Explaining how the trial works, Ant tells the pair: “This is Tanks of Torment. Carol, it’s your job to swim through the four sections of the tank, collecting stars as you go.”

Dec adds: “You will only be able to move through the sections once Fatima has raised the doors that separate them.”

And, of course with it being I’m A Celebrity the tanks are filled with snakes and crocodiles.

Arriving at the trial Fatima says: “Here we have the brains and the brawn. It’s going to be a good combination.”

However, former Countdown star Carol, who has twice won the Rear of the Year award, thinks that when it comes to an underwater challenge her bum could get in the way.

Admitting there could be a problem, Carol says: “I'll tell you what, the only problem that I really have is my bottom always floats to the top. It is the most buoyant thing in Britain!

“So actually getting down underwater is my biggest problem.”

Following on from her comments, Dec jokes: “This is the problem with having Britain's most buoyant bottom.”

Things are very different on the show this time around - for the first time ever, it's pre-recorded, meaning there’s no public vote and no live scenes from camp.

Explaining how it will work this time around, hosts Ant and Dec said: "This time around there is no king or queen of the jungle.

"Instead, one of you will become the first ever I'm A Celeb legend. You'll compete against each other to win food, treats, and for the right to remain in the camp.

"Long story short, expect the unexpected.”
