Donald Trump mistakenly introduced rapper Lil Pump as 'Lil Pimp' as he invited him up to a podium during a rally ahead of the US election:

The campaign event was taking place in Florida just before polls close and current POTUS, Trump, told the crowds: "Speaking of sound, music and other things, one of the big superstars of the world, Little Pimp... there he is."

He went on to encourage the 20-year-old on to the podium, saying: "How's it going, do you want to come up and say something? Come on, Lil Pump, come on up here. Does everyone know who he is? Do you know how big he is?"

The rapper appeared on the stage wearing one of Trump's 'Make America Great Again' hats and said: "Hello everybody. How're you guys feeling? I've come here to say, Mr President, I appreciate everything you've done for our country.

"You brought the troops home and you're doing the right thing. MAGA 20, 20, 20. Don't forget that, don't forget that. And, don't vote for sleepy Joe [Biden] at all."

Earlier today, businesses started boarding up entrances ahead of the election after the lead-up has been marked with verbal jabs, eyebrow raising comments and a lot of tension.

The companies in Washington DC have been boarding up the entrances to their building in case things get hairy, with many fearful of social unrest if the country elects either Joe Biden or Donald Trump and the ones who have shopfronts on the street level aren't taking any chances.

Everything from hair salons to restaurants, clothing stores to banks that are close to the White House have whacked plywood on the front to stop anyone from wreaking havoc if they get upset.

George Washington University, which is just a few blocks from the President's home on Pennsylvania Drive, issued a message to students last week.

According to USA Today, students have been urged to stockpiling frozen meals, medication and other supplies. They've also been warned to treat the Election Day period 'as you would for a hurricane or a snowstorm that would prevent you from going outside for several days to grab food or order takeout'.
