The big day for Game of Thrones co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie has finally arrived, as they were spotted arriving at church to get married.

Harington, who plays Jon Snow, kept it low key by rocking up to Rayne Church in Kirkton of Rayne in a taxi cab, the Daily Mail reports, before Rose appeared with her father looking chuffed to bits.

Apparently the church where they wed is the one that Rose's family has frequented for hundreds of years, and she went to the tiny village primary school as a young kid.

The Game of Thrones co-stars officially broke the news of their engagement with a classy announcement in The Times.

The announcement in the 'forthcoming marriages' sections read: "Mr K.C. Harington and Miss R.E. Leslie - The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire."

The couple owe a lot to the show. Not only did it help them find fame and fortune, it's also where they found each other back in 2012, when they were cast as on-screen lovers.

Two years later, Rose left the show, but she'd made a lasting impression on Kit. Speaking to L'Uomo Vogue about his favourite memory of working on the show, he said it was working Iceland with Rose.

He said: "Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love.

"If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love."

Despite starting their relationship several years ago, they kept it low key and only 'went public' in 2016 at the Olivier Awards.

After they revealed that they'd taken the next step and moved in with each other, Kit told James Corden: "I've moved in with my other best friend, Rose, so I'm very happy.

"It's going well, so she's got all sorts of ideas for the house.

"I said to her, 'cause she's moved into my house, 'Look, darling, it's important that this is our space. That it feels like our space. That you haven't just moved into mine. Move anything you want around, change anything, chuck anything out'."

Brave move, that, but looks like it paid off.

Harington's got a busy year or so coming up - not only will he have to settle in to domesticated married bliss, he'll also be getting ready to say goodbye to his on-screen alter-ego, Jon Snow.
