People Call For Taylor Swift To Announce Her Presidency Bid

Yesterday Kanye West revealed his intentions to run for US president and now people are calling for Taylor Swift to announce her own presidency bid.

One fan wrote: "How about Taylor Swift as the president and Selena Gomez as vice president? #kanye2020."

Another added: "If Kanye is running for president can Taylor Swift please also run for president? @taylorswift13 WE NEED YOU RIGHT NOW."

Someone else suggested: "If Kanye gets elected as president, I want Taylor Swift to gate crash his first speech and say something like, "Yo Kanye, I'm happy for you, imma let you finish but I think Beyoncé deserves to be president instead."

This was a reference to the moment in the 2009 VMAs when Kanye walked on stage and interrupted Swift's acceptance speech for 'Best Female Video' to announce that 'Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time'.

Yesterday the rapper made the announcement on Twitter, revealing he will be running for top spot in The White House, four months ahead of election day.

And it seems as though he's already got a couple of influential supporters - naturally, his wife Kim Kardashian West, who tweeted out his announcement alongside an American flag to her 65.5 million followers.

Meanwhile, billionaire and pal Elon Musk wrote: "You have my full support!"

Although this is the first time he's announced himself in the running for POTUS, Kanye has spoken previously about wanting to become president in 2020.

All the way back in 2015, at the MTV Music Video Awards, Kanye said he would be running in 2020.

Singer John Legend also confirmed back in 2018 that the 43-year-old was very serious when he said he would run.

Speaking on the Dan Wootton Interview podcast, he said: "He's said it multiple times. Yeah, I think he's serious.

"I'd guess he'd run as an independent, but he's never told me anything about what party he would run from. But he's said multiple times that he's interested in running for president."
