He's a sitcom legend, a mall cop, and a Hollywood comedy favourite... and apparently a man capable of going 41 days without eating.
Kevin James, best known for his roles in The King of Queens, Grown Ups, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop, has revealed the unusual method behind his dramatic weight loss journey.
The actor claimed to have dropped a whopping 23kg (50lbs) after going on an extreme fast for almost six weeks.
Before you get inspired to throw your snacks in the bin and declare a war on all food, James has made it pretty clear this isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach.
James shared his weight loss approach while making a guest appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, explaining it was less about following a strict plan and more about testing what he was capable of mentally.

“I can lose it really quick. I can fast and lose it," he told the podcast host.
“I could do it in a month - Less than a month.”
Shocked by the comedian's claim, Rogan asked him how many days in a row he could fast for, to which James replied: "41 and a half" - to be precise.
Seeing Rogan's jaw drop, the Grown Ups actor explained: “When I lock on, I can do something."
The TV star explained that the decision was also linked to a difficult time for his family, after his daughter was faced with some serious health battles.
“It was mental. I felt so bad for my daughter, I said I'm going to do this for you, something that I could do and apply it to. It was like so emotionally tied to me.
“I started fasting, I didn’t say ‘I’m going to do 40 days,’ I just said ‘I'm going to do whatever I can.’"

Despite the dramatic results of his fast, James was eager to stress that fasting for that long isn't for everyone.
"I'm not saying it's the way to go for everybody, I don't know," he admitted on the podcast.
He also revealed that the weight loss from his fast didn't necessarily stick, sharing that he 'blew back up' once he started eating again.
Since then, the actor has been focusing on more sustainable ways to stay in shape.
"Just recently I've stopped comparing myself to other people and trying to just say: 'get better than yourself yesterday'," he told Rogan.
"That concept works for me."
