Anthony Joshua’s driver could face prosecution for the crash that killed two of the fighter’s closest friends in Nigeria, as he is released from the hospital.
The crash, which occurred on 29 December, tragically led to the deaths of Sina Ghami and Latif 'Latz' Ayodele. Sina was Joshua’s sport and exercise rehabilitation coach, while Latz was his personal trainer.
The pair had their identities confirmed in a statement from Matchroom Boxing, following videos on social media showing the fighter being pulled from the car.
Matchroom Boxing had previously released a statement confirming the deaths of Sina and Latz and giving an update on AJ's condition, saying: "Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident in Lagos, Nigeria, earlier today.

"With profound sadness, it has been confirmed that two close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, have tragically passed away.

"Matchroom Boxing and 258 BXG can confirm that Anthony sustained injuries in the accident and was taken to hospital for checks and treatment. He is in a stable condition and will remain there for observation."
The horror crash happened just over one week after his long-awaited fight in Miami with Jake Paul on 20 December.
The cause of the crash has been confirmed by authorities, who said that the Lexus SUV Joshua and his friends were in 'lost control' while speeding, which caused the tire to burst whilst overtaking another vehicle, before crashing into a parked van.
Now, the boxing champion’s driver is apparently under investigation for dangerous driving and could even face prosecution for his alleged role in the crash.
According to reports from The Sun, a source from the Federal Road Safety Corps said: "Preliminary reports indicate the driver exceeded speed limits and overtook dangerously before the crash. These are serious offences under Nigerian law and can attract criminal liability if fatalities are involved."

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Nigerian Police Force, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, told The Daily Mail that the driver 'has been discharged from the hospital, and he is currently giving his statement'.
As for the truck driver, The Sun further reports that they allegedly left the scene after the crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Officials say the truck involved was seized and has since been held at the Federal Road Safety Corps office at the Sagamu interchange during the investigation.
Since the crash, Adedamola Joshua, an uncle of Joshua's, said in a statement that the crash has had a profound family impact.
He said: “The incident shook our family deeply. Though our son, Anthony, is alive, two of his friends, who came to celebrate with us, lost their lives.
“This is a serious tragedy, not only for our family, but for Ogun State, Nigeria, and the world at large. We are deeply saddened that two people very close to Anthony did not survive. Our hearts are with their families.”
LADbible Group has contacted the Nigerian Police for comment.
