Jake Paul could be banned from boxing for a longer amount of time after he lost his fight to Anthony Joshua to a knockout.
The bout between Joshua and the YouTuber-turned-fighter has been controversial, with some fans being convinced that Paul wouldn’t last seconds in the ring in the Netflix streamed event. But he did and actually lasted six whole rounds, until he was knocked out and had his jaw broken in two places.
Since the incident, Paul has admitted he’s taking some time to think about what he’ll do next.
He said, per The Mirror: “I’ve already won in every single way in life, my family, my jaw is broken by the way, it’s definitely broke, nice little a** whooping from one of the best to ever do it.

"Honestly, I’m not surprised, I just got tired, so much handling his weight. I think with better cardio, I could’ve kept fighting.
"I did my personal best. Oh, for sure, we’ll heal the broken jaw, go back, fight people my own weight and go for the cruiserweight world title.”

"I'm going to take a little break. I've been going hard for six years."
While he has a break scheduled, it’s not really optional for the next two months, as he’s facing a mandatory 60-day suspension from the Florida Athletic Commission due to his knockout.
However, the outlet reported that the ban could be extended if the knockout is considered to be severe enough to warrant it.
The Liverpool Echo said that any fight of this calibre requires a ban, but with a healing jaw, Paul is probably going to be better off for the extra rest. The outlet also said Paul could face a ban that's double or triple the usual automatic 30-ban which comes from a technical knockout.
Despite the injury, Paul and Joshua reportedly earned tens of millions from the fight.
“Stop asking me...$267 million,” he tweeted prior to the bout, which is around $200 million for us UK folks.

Per sports and entertainment accountant Oriana Morrison, who told The Independent, it’s a sizeable purse that hasn’t been seen for some time.
She said: "Even if the lower figure – the rumoured $184m purse – is true, AJ could bring home $92m [£70m]. We haven’t seen a boxing match with a purse at this level since Mayweather vs Pacquiao in 2015 or even Mayweather vs McGregor in 2017. It’s higher than any Saudi purse to date.”
But despite the outcome, Joshua had some hard words for himself after previously revealing his 'licence to kill' mindset.
"It wasn't the best performance," said Joshua after his win. "The goal was to get Jake Paul out and hurt him.
"Jake Paul has done really well tonight. I want to give him his props, he got up, time and time again. I just took my time and I got the job done. I refuse to get hurt, I refuse to acknowledge getting hurt. There is no hurt in me."
